Location

The AlpenParks Montana Matrei is located in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Fertile valleys, imposing three-thousanders, stunning views, and rare animals and plants – everything is picture-perfect. Hiking, biking tours, ski excursions, and kayak adventures are a must.
Regardless of your category, there is plenty to experience and see in East Tyrol. Idyllic valleys and steep slopes await you in the Großglockner Resort ski and hiking area. You'll also need your hiking boots for the Virgental valley. Then there's the start of the Iseltrail. Right outside the door of your hotel in the Hohe Tauern. In between, culinary delights await. The rustic Tyrolean charm blends with the Mediterranean lightness of the south.
The village of Matrei in Osttirol is also affectionately known as the "Heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park". The Goldried gondola lift, the gateway to the Grossglockner Resort with 16 state-of-the-art lifts up to 2400m (with 47.1km of ski slopes, 100% snow-covered), is only approx. 500 m away, making it an ideal starting point for explorations in and around Matrei in Osttirol. The center of Matrei, a ski and equipment rental, and a ski school are also approx. 500 m away.

As an ideal starting point for adventures big and small around the Großglockner, it brings together explorers and gourmets, summit climbers and those seeking relaxation. All are looking for that alpine thrill, grounding bliss, and boundaries that fade away. The hotel is characterized by its personal management. The 3-star superior hotel offers a total of 35 rooms. Further facilities include a lobby with a reception. In the hotel's own breakfast room, you can fuel up for an eventful day. For winter sports enthusiasts, the hotel provides a ski and ski boot drying room where sports equipment can be stored and dried after a long day on the slopes. In summer, the sun terrace invites you to sunbathe or relax.

Double room Type A

With otherwise similar amenities to the double rooms, these feature a Nespresso coffee machine, refrigerator, kettle, and a pull-out sofa (DA, approx. 48 sqm).

Family room

Similarly equipped to the double rooms Type A, these offer a double bed plus a bunk bed (DF2, approx. 48 sqm).

Double room Type B

Also similarly equipped to the double rooms Type A, these feature an infrared cabin (DB, approx. 48 sqm).
