Location

The AlpenParks Montana Matrei is located in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Fertile valleys, imposing three-thousanders, great views, and rare animals and plants – everything is picture-perfect. Hiking, biking tours, ski excursions, and kayak adventures are a must.
Whatever category you belong to – there is plenty to experience and see in East Tyrol. Idyllic valleys and steep slopes will be left behind you in the Großglockner Resort ski and hiking area. You will also need your hiking boots for the Virgental valley. Then there is the start of the Iseltrail. Right on your doorstep at your hotel in the Hohe Tauern. Between these, culinary delights await. The rustic Tyrol, which blends with the Mediterranean lightness of the south.
The village of Matrei in Osttirol is also affectionately called the "Heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park". The Goldried gondola lift, the gateway to the Grossglockner Resort with 16 state-of-the-art lifts up to 2400m (with 47.1km of ski slopes, 100% snow-covered) is only approx. 500 m away and thus an optimal starting point for discoveries in and around Matrei in Osttirol. The center of Matrei, a ski and boot rental, as well as a ski school, can be reached in approx. 500 m.

Whether a cozy nest in winter or a cool retreat in summer – the Hotel Montana Matrei offers both. As an optimal starting point for small and large adventures around the Grossglockner, explorers meet connoisseurs and summit climbers meet those who like to take it slow. All of them are looking for the alpine kick, the grounding bliss, and boundaries that are no longer boundaries. The hotel is characterized by its personal management. The 3-star superior hotel offers a total of 35 rooms. Further facilities include a lobby with a reception. In the hotel's own breakfast room, you can fortify yourself for an eventful day. For winter sports enthusiasts, the hotel offers a ski and boot drying room where sports equipment can be stored and dried after a long day on the slopes. In summer, the sun terrace invites you to sunbathe or relax.

The cozy and comfortable double rooms (D, approx. 28 m²) are equipped with a double bed, shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, satellite TV, carpet, seating area, and a balcony with mountain view (D).

These are double rooms for single use (E).

Double room Type A

With otherwise similar amenities to the double rooms, these feature a Nespresso coffee machine, refrigerator, kettle, and a pull-out sofa (DA, approx. 48 m²).

Family room

Similar to the Double room Type A, these rooms offer a double bed plus a bunk bed (DF2, approx. 48 m²).

Double room Type B

Also similar to the Double room Type A, these rooms feature an infrared cabin (DB, approx. 48 m²).

Includes breakfast buffet (cold/hot) from 7:30 AM to 10 AM.
For a fee, A-la-carte restaurant "Alte Mühle" (approx. 20m away) known for its good cuisine (under the same management!).
