The Hotel Alte Post is located in the wonderful region of Tyrol, in immediate proximity to the center of Ellmau. The hotel boasts a beautiful panoramic location at approximately 820m altitude. The nearest cafes and restaurants can be reached in about 150m, and nearby attractions such as the Kaiserbad indoor pool (approx. 1.3 km away) are also quickly accessible. The hotel is ideally suited for alpine skiers and cross-country skiers in winter. A free ski bus operates according to the local timetable. The ski bus stop is located directly at the hotel. For beginner skiers, a ski school and a practice lift are available approximately 250m away. The Hartkaiserbahn cable car in the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental ski area is about 1.5 km from the hotel. The nearest cross-country ski trail is only about 200m away.

Especially in summer, swimming at Lake Going (approx. 2.5 km away) offers an excellent combination of experiencing nature and engaging in sports in and around Ellmau.

Ski area Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental:

The 9 resorts of Ellmau, Söll, Scheffau, Going, Westendorf, Brixen im Thale, Kelchsau, Hopfgarten, and Itter together form the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski area, with a single ski pass valid for all resorts. This top winter sports region, with its perfectly groomed slopes, extends to snow-sure altitudes and offers off-piste areas, a race course, various snowmaking facilities, and magnificent panoramic views. It also features a clear piste map with detailed information boards. Its children's area makes it ideal for children's first skiing experiences. With floodlights, the slopes can also be wonderfully skied at night. But it's not just skiers who get their money's worth here, as the area is considered a cross-country skiing eldorado with approx. 70 km of classic cross-country trails. For those who want to send holiday greetings directly from the slopes to friends and acquaintances, Wi-Fi hotspots are also available in the ski area for this purpose. Various restaurants and, of course, après-ski opportunities provide social gatherings off the slopes and offer warming drinks and snacks. 5 snow parks also promise a lot of fun.
