Location

Altitude: approx. 768 meters Welcome to Maishofen! This traditional village is always worth a visit. Its central location makes the village a wonderful holiday destination. Furthermore, there are some interesting day trip destinations in the vicinity of Maishofen waiting for your visit. For example, the Tauern Spa thermal bath, 13 km away, is highly recommended. As soon as the first snowflakes fall, Maishofen shows its winter splendor with snow-covered peaks. Currently, the focus is on winter sports due to the Schmitten ski area, approximately 8.5 km away, with a total piste length of around 77 km. Skiing, ice skating, fat biking, and snow biking are just a few of the activities you can enjoy. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is about 20 km away. Tobogganing on the Bramberg toboggan run (the longest illuminated toboggan run in Europe) (approx. 46 km away) is also great fun.

Facilities

Partially renovated in 2019, the Alpenrose accommodation offers a total of 30 residential units, a reception, a lounge, and an e-car charging station. Let yourself be pampered with culinary delights in the breakfast room, the restaurant, and a traditional parlor. You can round off an eventful day of vacation in a convivial atmosphere at the hotel bar. For your winter sports equipment, there is a lockable ski and snowboard storage room and a heated ski boot room with a ski boot dryer. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Schmitten-Zell am See Ski Area: Altitude: approx. 750-1,965 m The Schmitten-Zell am See winter sports area offers perfectly groomed pistes, freeriding opportunities, and a race track. Fun and games await the little ones in the children's area. But it's not just skiers who get their money's worth here, as the area is considered a cross-country skiing paradise with approx. 48 km of classic cross-country ski trails. Various huts invite you to stop for a break near the pistes. A snow park also promises a lot of fun.
