Location

Altitude: approx. 768 meters Welcome to Maishofen! This traditional village is always worth a visit. Its central location makes it a wonderful holiday destination. Furthermore, there are several interesting day trip destinations in the vicinity of Maishofen awaiting your visit. The Tauern Spa, located 13 km away, is particularly recommended. As soon as the first snowflakes fall, Maishofen showcases its winter splendor with snow-capped peaks. During winter, the focus is naturally on winter sports at the Schmitten ski area, located about 8.5 km away, with a total of approximately 77 km of slopes. Skiing, ice skating, fat biking, and snow biking are just a few of the activities you can enjoy. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is about 20 km away. Tobogganing on the Bramberg toboggan run (the longest illuminated toboggan run in Europe), located about 46 km away, is also great fun.

Facilities

The Alpenrose accommodation, partially renovated in 2019, offers a total of 30 units, including a reception, a lounge area, and an e-car charging station. Enjoy culinary delights in the breakfast room, restaurant, and a cozy parlor (Stüberl). You can end an eventful day in good company at the hotel bar. A lockable ski and snowboard storage room, as well as a heated ski boot room with a ski boot dryer, are available for your winter sports equipment. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Winter:
Schmitten-Zell am See ski area: Altitude: approx. 750-1,965 m The Schmitten-Zell am See winter sports area offers perfectly groomed slopes, freeriding opportunities, and a race course. Fun and games await the little ones in the children's area. But it's not just skiers who get their money's worth here, as the area is considered a cross-country skiing paradise with approx. 48 km of classic cross-country ski trails. Various huts invite you for a stop along the slopes. A snow park also promises a lot of fun.
