NEW from Summer 2025: For all guests staying overnight in the Salzburg region from May 1, 2025, there is a new fee, the "mobility levy." The fee is charged per overnight stay in parallel with the local tax and goes towards the expansion of public transport. In return, all guests receive free use of public transport at their holiday destination. The levy must be paid regardless of whether public transport is used.
- The mobility levy is a legally mandated fee and must be paid for all taxable overnight stays.
- From May 1, 2025: € 0.50, with gradual increases thereafter, from May 1, 2027: € 1.10.
