Location

The family-friendly Katrin Hotel is located just 250 m from the sandy beach of Stalis, separated by a coastal road, and is about 200 m from the town center. The center of Hersonissos, with its numerous shopping and entertainment options, is approximately 4 km away, and a local bus stop is about 150 m away. Heraklion Airport is approximately 30 km away.

Facilities

This Schauinsland-Reisen original hotel features 118 units spread across a main building and several annexes. Amenities include a lobby with 24-hour reception, a lounge, the main bar "Dionissos," and the "Ambrosia" buffet restaurant. The outdoor area offers several pool sections, including an activity pool with a separate children's splash pool, as well as a relax pool and whirlpool in the adult area. The "Posidon" and "Sunshine" pool bars are also available. In summer 2024, further parts of the outdoor area were modernized and refurnished, and the main bar and main restaurant were also renovated. Pool towels can be rented for a fee. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for free by the pool and for a fee at the beach. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel free of charge.
The hotel will be expanded in summer 2027 and will then feature 161 units, a new "Ambrosia" buffet restaurant, two new theme restaurants (Asian and Italian), and a new area with sharing pool rooms.

These double rooms are located in the annex buildings, are renovated and feature a walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, toiletries, individually adjustable air conditioning, smart TV, telephone, mini-fridge, safe for rent, and a newly furnished balcony or terrace (DA).

Double room Superior

The Superior double rooms are located in the main building and feature a walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, toiletries, individually adjustable air conditioning, smart TV, telephone, mini-fridge, safe for rent, and a newly furnished balcony or terrace (DSU/SSX).
Can optionally be booked for single use (DSE/DAE) or as a Superior economy room (2US).

Double room Superior with Whirlpool

With the same facilities as the Superior double rooms, these are renovated, located in the annexes, and additionally feature a ceiling fan and whirlpool (J2N).
The whirlpool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

With the same facilities as the Superior double rooms, these are renovated, located in the annexes, and additionally feature a ceiling fan and plunge pool (DPL/DAB).
The plunge pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Junior Suite Schauinsland-Reisen

They are located in the annexes, are renovated, identically equipped as the family rooms, and feature a walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, toiletries, individually adjustable air conditioning, two smart TVs, telephone, mini-fridge, safe for rent, a combined living/sleeping area (open plan) with an additional bunk bed, and a newly furnished balcony or terrace (JL2/JSF).

Family Suite

They are located in the annexes, are renovated, and with the same facilities as the family rooms, they are more spacious and feature two smart TVs, a ceiling fan, and an additional separate sleeping room with a bunk bed (2FS/2ZA).

Family Suite Superior

The Family Suite Superior offers, with the same facilities and size as the Family Suite, sleeping accommodations for up to three people in the separate sleeping room (2FF).

Breakfast (7:30-10:00), lunch (12:30-14:30), and dinner (18:30-21:30) in buffet style, snacks throughout the day (11:00-12:30), ice cream for children only (12:00-15:30), and coffee/tea and pastries (16:00-17:00). Soft drinks, beer, and table wine are included with meals. From 11:00-23:00, local non-alcoholic drinks and selected local alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, Ouzo, brandy, and Raki) are included at the respective open bar. From 18:00-23:00, local vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, and tequila are additionally included. Furthermore, the cocktail of the day is included from 21:00-22:00.

Destination information: Climate Resilience Tax

For stays starting from Jan 1st, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience tax, which the guest must pay locally, similar to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from Jan 1st, 2025, from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room.
