Location

The small hotel, completely renovated for Summer 2026, is a Schauinsland-Reisen original and an ideal holiday destination for couples, singles, and families seeking tranquility. It is quietly located in the Sfakaki district, slightly elevated directly on the coast. The sand/pebble beach is located directly below the hotel and is accessible via stairs. Shops and entertainment options are available in the vicinity. Rethymnon is about 10 km away. Heraklion and its airport are approximately 73 km away, and Chania airport is approximately 78 km away. A bus stop is located about 200m from the hotel.

Facilities

At the family-run and lovingly managed Ekavi Hotel, the philosophy is "come as a guest, leave as a friend." ME FILOUS stands for special hospitality, with which the German-speaking owner Chrisoula and her entire team make every holiday day special. The small hotel is not only an ideal place for relaxation but also an ideal starting point for discovering the diverse island. The 59 accommodation units, spread over 2 floors, have also been renovated and offer every comfort. The reception (manned 17 hours a day) with a safe (for a fee) and a cozy lounge serves as the central meeting point. Wi-Fi is included in public areas. There is also a breakfast room and a bar. An à la carte restaurant with a terrace offers Greek and international delicacies while overlooking the sunset. In the well-maintained outdoor area, a sun terrace with comfortable loungers and daybeds around the freshwater swimming pool invites you to linger and is an ideal meeting point for pleasant conversations and relaxed hours in the sun. The adjacent pool bar provides refreshments. Loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge by the pool, and for a fee on the beach.

The Double Rooms Deluxe feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, ceiling fan, telephone, satellite TV, Wi-Fi (included), mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (DD2).

Note for climate resilience contribution

For stays from 01.01.2018 onwards, the Greek government levies a climate resilience contribution, which is to be paid by the guest locally, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and will be tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room from 01.01.2025.
