Location

The small hotel, completely renovated for summer 2026, is a schauinsland-reisen original and an ideal holiday destination for couples, singles, and families looking for relaxation. It is located in a quiet area in Sfakaki, slightly elevated directly on the coast. The sand/pebble beach is located directly below the hotel and can be reached via stairs. Shopping and entertainment options are available in the immediate vicinity. Rethymnon is approximately 10 km away. Heraklion and its airport can be reached after approx. 73 km, and Chania Airport after approx. 78 km. There is a bus stop about 200 m from the hotel.

Facilities

At the family-run and very affectionately managed Ekavi Hotel, the motto is "arrive as a guest, leave as a friend". The ME FILOUS stands for special hospitality, with which the German-speaking owner Chrisoula and her entire team make every holiday day special. The small hotel is not only an ideal place for relaxation but also an ideal starting point to discover the diverse island. The 59 renovated residential units, spread over two floors, have also been renovated and offer every comfort. The central point of contact is the reception (staffed for 17 hours) with a rental safe and a cozy lounge. There is also a breakfast room and a bar. An à-la-carte restaurant with a terrace offers Greek and international delicacies while enjoying the sunset. In the well-kept outdoor area, a sun terrace with comfortable loungers and daybeds around the freshwater swimming pool invites you to linger and is an ideal meeting point for nice conversations and relaxing hours in the sun. The adjacent pool bar provides refreshments. Loungers and umbrellas are free of charge at the pool, and available for a fee at the beach.
Wi-Fi is included in public areas and in the rooms.

Deluxe Double Room

The renovated Deluxe double rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, ceiling fan, telephone, satellite TV, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (DD2/DDI).
Optionally also bookable with breakfast only (DDI) or for single use (DD1).

Superior Double Room

The renovated Superior double rooms are slightly more spacious with the same features (DSU).

The renovated family rooms feature a living room and a separate bedroom, and have a sea view, with otherwise identical features (DF2).

Suite

The renovated suites consist of a living room and two separate bedrooms, with otherwise identical features (S2).

Breakfast/Half board

Breakfast is served in buffet form from 8-10 am. Dinner is also available as a buffet from 7-9 pm.
Optionally, the Deluxe double rooms can only be booked with breakfast (DDI).

Wellness

Massages, manicure and pedicure, as well as a hairdresser (all for a fee, upon request).

Hotel service

Room cleaning 6x per week, towel change and bed linen change 2x per week.

Climate Resilience Fee Note

For stays from 1/1/2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 1/1/2025 between 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room.
