Location

The Minos Mare hotel is located directly on a Blue Flag sandy beach in Platanes, near Rethymnon. With its attentive service and manageable size, it's an excellent retreat for a relaxing holiday. The town center of Rethymnon is approximately 5 km from the hotel. A selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, and tavernas are in the immediate vicinity. The distance to Heraklion airport is about 78 km and to Chania airport is 72 km.

The modern and appealing complex is a schauinsland-reisen original. With a total of 121 rooms, it features a lobby with a 24-hour reception, a main restaurant, an à la carte restaurant (seasonal and weather-dependent), a mini-market, a small library, and a souvenir shop. The lush garden area boasts a pool bar with shaded seating, surrounded by palm trees. The freshwater swimming pool with a sun terrace and a separate children's pool invites you to relax. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included by the pool and on the beach. Towels can be rented for a deposit. Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel complex.

The tastefully furnished rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, centrally controlled air conditioning, a safe (for a fee), telephone, satellite TV, mini-fridge (one bottle of water included upon arrival), coffee/tea station, tiled floor, and a balcony or terrace (D).
Optionally, for single occupancy (DE) or slightly more spacious as a double room with a pool view and a whirlpool bath instead of a shower, bathrobes, and slippers (DP/PID) can be booked with the same amenities.

Breakfast (7:30-10:30 AM), lunch (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM), and dinner (7:00 PM - 9:30 PM) served buffet-style in the main restaurant, featuring Greek and international dishes.
A light lunch with finger food is available at the 'Aphrodite' bar (12:30 PM - 2:30 PM). Once per stay, a 5-course dinner at the 'Poseidon' restaurant is included (seasonal and weather-dependent opening, reservation required).
Snacks are served at the 'Aphrodite Bar' from 10:45 AM to 4:00 PM, ice cream from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and in the afternoon from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, coffee/tea with cakes and biscuits, as well as desserts.
Water, soft drinks, tea, and filter coffee are included with meals and at the open bar from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the open bar.
