Location

The modern "Grecotel Plaza Beach House" in Rethymnon is separated from the Blue Flag awarded sand/pebble beach by a quiet coastal road. The harbor and the old town with its shopping and entertainment venues are approx. 3 km from the hotel. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 80 km and to Chania Airport approx. 71 km.

Facilities

The stylish hotel complex has 84 studios and apartments and offers guests a reception hall with a front desk, lobby, lobby bar, a main restaurant, an à-la-carte restaurant, and a bar. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the complex. In the outdoor area, there is a freshwater pool with a sea view and another freshwater pool, as well as a freshwater paddling pool for children. An ice cream kiosk and a traditional patisserie round off the range of facilities. Sunshades and loungers are included on the outdoor sun terraces and at the beach.

Plaza Studio Sea View

The boho-style studios feature double beds and a single bed for the third person, bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace with a sea view (PLM). The studios are designed in an open-plan style, either as a maisonette or on one level. The maisonettes feature a bedroom on the upper level and a living area with a kitchenette and bathroom on the lower level.

Superior Plaza Apartment

The spacious apartments are located on the ground floor or the first floor and feature a combined living/sleeping area with a sofa bed, a separate bedroom, a kitchenette, as well as a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (PLA). Also bookable with a sea view (APM/AMI).

Petit Loft Maisonette

The maisonettes are two-story, more spacious with a bunk bed, and feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (PLB). Optionally bookable as a more spacious Master Loft Maisonette (MLE).

Loft 2 Bedroom Maisonette

The lofts consist of a living room with a kitchenette, two bedrooms, and two showers/WC. They are designed in a maisonette style and feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (LOM/2IA).

Plaza Grande Apartment

The apartments have the same amenities as the 2-bedroom lofts, but are not necessarily designed in a maisonette style (PLC/2IA).

Family Apartment

The family apartments are located on the ground floor or the first floor and consist of a combined living/sleeping area with bunk beds and a separate bedroom with a double bed. The rooms feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace with a garden view (APF).

Family Apartment Sharing Pool

The Family Apartments Sharing Pool feature the same amenities as the family apartments with the addition of access to a sharing pool (2AF).
The sharing pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We request that you exercise caution and pay special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased potential hazard for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booked into these room types.

Meals

Breakfast/Half board

A varied breakfast buffet awaits you. A late continental breakfast is available. An early breakfast service and an in-room breakfast service are available on request.
When booking half board, dinner at the "House Kitchen Restaurant" is included.

Children's program

The Kids Club offers a magical holiday experience for children aged 4-12. At the Plaza Beach House, children enjoy a special holiday program with toys and facilities made from selected materials, qualified staff, creative activities, fun, and games.

Note on climate resilience fee

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a local tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room, as of January 1, 2025.
