The modern "Grecotel Plaza Beach House" in Rethymnon is separated from the Blue Flag awarded sandy/pebbly beach by a quiet coastal road. The harbor and the old town with its shopping and entertainment venues are approx. 3 km away from the hotel. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 80 km and to Chania Airport approx. 71 km.

Facilities

The stylish hotel complex features 84 studios and apartments and offers guests a lobby with reception, lobby bar, a main restaurant, an à la carte restaurant, and a bar. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the entire complex. The outdoor area includes a freshwater pool with sea view, an additional freshwater pool, and a freshwater paddling pool for children. An ice cream kiosk and a traditional patisserie complete the amenities. Sun umbrellas and sun loungers are included on the outdoor sun terraces and on the beach.

Accommodation

Plaza Studio Sea View

The boho-style decorated studios feature double beds and one single bed for the third person, bathroom or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace with sea view (PLM). The studios are designed in an open-plan style, either as a maisonette or on one level. The maisonettes feature a bedroom on the upper level and a living area with a kitchenette and bathroom on the lower level.

Superior Plaza Apartment

The spacious apartments are located on the ground floor or the first floor and feature a combined living/sleeping area with a sofa bed, a separate bedroom, as well as a bathroom or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (PLA). Optionally also bookable with a sea view (APM/AMI).

Petit Loft Maisonette

The maisonettes are two-story, more spacious, equipped with a bunk bed, and feature a bathroom or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (PLB). Optionally also bookable as a more spacious Master Loft Maisonette (MLE).

Loft 2 Bedroom Maisonette

The lofts consist of a living room with a kitchenette, two bedrooms, two showers/WC, are arranged in a maisonette style, and feature a bathroom or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (LOM/2IA).

Plaza Grande Apartment

The apartments have the same facilities as the 2-bedroom lofts, but are not necessarily arranged in a maisonette style (PLC/2IA).

Family Apartment

The family apartments are located on the ground floor or the first floor and consist of a combined living/sleeping area with bunk beds and a separate bedroom with a double bed. The rooms feature a bathroom or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace with garden view (APF).

Family Apartment Sharing Pool

The family apartments sharing pool have the same facilities as the family apartments, plus access to a sharing pool (2AF).
The sharing pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Meals

Breakfast/Half board

A varied breakfast buffet awaits you. A late continental breakfast is available. An early breakfast service and a room breakfast service are available upon request.
When booking half board, dinner is included in the "House Kitchen Restaurant".

Note regarding climate resilience fee

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and, as of January 1, 2025, is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 € per day and room.
