Location

The Iberostar Waves Creta Panorama hotel is situated above two swimming bays with pebble beaches. The towns of Panormo and Rethymnon, with their shopping and entertainment options, are approximately 3 km and 18 km away, respectively (easily accessible by public transport). The distance to Heraklion Airport is approximately 65 km, and the distance to Chania Airport is approximately 85 km. A bus stop is located about 100 m from the hotel.

Facilities

This popular family hotel was partially renovated in summer 2026 and offers extensive amenities for guests of all ages. Consisting of a main building with 213 rooms and a bungalow area with 242 rooms, the property features a 24-hour reception with lobby, an indoor pool (seasonal, open for limited hours), a main restaurant, a tavern/Greek snack bar, a grill restaurant, a new Italian restaurant, and several bars.
In the well-maintained, spacious garden area, there are six swimming pools, including one with an integrated children's pool and a separate children's pool (seawater and freshwater). Bath towels, sun loungers, and umbrellas are included at the pool and beach.
In addition, the hotel offers an aqua park opened in 2025 with water features and slides, a new relaxation pool, and food trucks that provide snacks and drinks (opening date 2026 expected from mid-May).
Wi-Fi is included in the lobby and in the rooms.

Double Room

The spacious double rooms are located in the main building and are equipped with double or twin beds as well as a sofa bed for the third person. They feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning (dependent on outside temperature, available for limited hours), refrigerator, safe, and a balcony or terrace (D/DA).
Optionally available at an extra charge as a Double Room with garden view (2GD, renovated for summer 2026) or sea view (DM/DMI/DMA, also renovated for summer 2026).

Double Room Sea View Priority Location

The spacious Double Rooms Sea View Priority Location are situated on the upper floors of the main building, were renovated for summer 2026, and are equipped with double or twin beds as well as a sofa bed for the third person. The rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning (dependent on outside temperature, available for limited hours), refrigerator, safe, and a balcony with a sea view (2PY).

Bungalow Garden View

The bungalows were renovated for summer 2025, are set amidst the spacious gardens, and are equipped with double or twin beds as well as a sleep chair for the third person. They feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, satellite TV, telephone, and a balcony or terrace with a garden view (BG2/B2B/B2A).
Optionally available at an extra charge as a Bungalow with sea view (B2M/B2I/BAM).

Bungalows Bay

With the same amenities as the Type A bungalows, these are more spacious (not renovated) and also feature an extra bed for the fourth person. These bungalows are located in the "Bay" area (2BU/BUA).

Bungalow Waterfront

The Bungalows Waterfront are located in the first row to the sea. The amenities are identical to the Bungalows Bay (BW2, not renovated).

Family Bungalow Garden View

Also renovated for summer 2025, these family bungalows consist of a living/bedroom with sofa beds or bunk beds and a separate bedroom with a double bed. These spacious rooms are equipped with bath/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, satellite TV, telephone, and a balcony or terrace with a garden view (BFP/BGA).

Family Bungalow Sea View

With the same amenities as the family bungalows, these offer a sea view and are also renovated (R2B/RAB).
Optionally available at an extra charge as a Family Bungalow Panorama Sea View, located in the first beach row (BFW/FPM/FPB).

Bungalow Bay Connecting Door

Consist of 2 Bungalows Bay with a connecting door (BIC/BIA).

Bungalow Panorama SV Private Pool (HER042I)

With otherwise similar amenities to the Bungalows Sea View, these are located beachfront and feature a private pool (BMP/BMA).
The pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased potential danger for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, a minimum age of 6 years applies for children when booking these room types with schauinsland-reisen.

Family Bungalow Panoramic SV Sharing Pool (HER042I)

With otherwise similar amenities to the Family Bungalows Panorama Sea View, these additionally offer a sharing pool (BH2/B2I).
The pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased potential danger for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, a minimum age of 6 years applies for children when booking these room types with schauinsland-reisen.

Suite Sea View (HER042I)

The suites with sea view consist of a living/bedroom and a separate bedroom (separated by a door or sliding door) as well as a shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, refrigerator, safe, telephone, and a balcony with a sea view (S2M/2MA).

Half Board

Breakfast (7:30–10:30 a.m.) and dinner (6:30–9:30 p.m.) are served buffet-style in the main restaurant.
With prior notice, breakfast can also be taken as an early-bird breakfast (6:00–7:30 a.m.) in the "Panorama" bar. Alternatively, a late-riser breakfast (10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) is offered in the "Zorbas" tavern.
Drinks are not included with dinner. Vegetarian dishes and meals for special dietary needs are also available. Appropriate attire is requested for dinner.

All Inclusive

All Inclusive

Breakfast (7:30–10:35 a.m.), lunch (12:30–2:30 p.m.), and dinner (6:30–9:30 p.m.) in the main restaurant in buffet form. The snack bar tavern offers an extended continental late-riser breakfast from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Ice cream and snacks from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at selected bars, coffee & cake from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Coffee, soft drinks, and street snacks are offered at the "Star Cafe" from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In the evening, the "Lavris" grill restaurant with a magnificent view opens its doors from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (high season only, July–August).
Various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the respective open bar.
For dinner in the various restaurants, prior reservation via the app is required.
Gentlemen are requested not to wear short trousers, sleeveless shirts, or flip-flops at dinner.

Climate Resilience Levy Note

For stays from 01.01.2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest locally, comparable to a tourist tax.
