The cozy Hotel Elea Terra is located on the quiet edge of the beautiful former fishing village of Matala, only approx. 550 m from the beach. The center of the peaceful village of Matala with several restaurants and bars is approx. 750 m from the hotel. The beautiful and popular red beach "Kokkini Ammos" can be reached via a hiking trail and is approx. 2.3 km away. Heraklion International Airport is approx. 65 km from "Elea Terra". A bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel.

The small, family-run hotel was partially renovated in some areas for the summer of 2024. It has 60 rooms spread over three buildings and offers a 24-hour reception, lobby, TV lounge, main bar, elevator (in the main building), and a restaurant. The well-maintained grounds feature a swimming pool and a newly designed and furnished pool bar. Sun loungers and parasols are included at the pool; they are available for a fee at the beach. Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel complex.

Note on climate resilience fee

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government has introduced a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room starting January 1, 2025.
