Location

Surrounded by a tropical palm garden in a quiet yet central location, the small and charming Hotel Villa Sonia is separated from one of Crete's most beautiful sandy beaches by just one road (approx. 250 m away).

Facilities

This boutique hotel is a Schauinsland-Reisen original and features 18 modern rooms spread across two buildings connected by a tropical palm garden. The hotel offers a reception area, a satellite TV lounge, and the "Edelweiss" café-cocktail bar with a shaded terrace. The café, which is open all day, turns into a stylish lounge in the evening, where guests can enjoy relaxing hours with drinks and cocktails in a romantic atmosphere accompanied by carefully selected background music. The neighboring hotel's swimming pool is about 150 m away and can be used by guests. Sun loungers and parasols are available at the pool and beach for a fee.
Wi-Fi is included in public areas and in the rooms.

Double room

The bright and pleasantly designed double rooms feature one double bed or two single beds and a bathroom with shower/WC and hairdryer. They are also equipped with individually adjustable air conditioning, a safe, satellite TV, coffee/tea making facilities, a mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (D).
Can also be booked for single use (DE).

Double room Superior

Partially renovated in 2023, the Superior double rooms feature more modern furnishings while otherwise offering the same equipment as the double rooms (DSU).
Can also be booked for single use (DSE).

Climate resilience tax

For stays starting from 1/1/2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience tax, which is payable by the guest on site, similar to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per room per day as of 1/1/2025.
For stays during high season 1/4 - 31/10:
Land category 1-2 stars: 2 euros
Land category 3 stars: 5 euros
Land category 4 stars: 10 euros
Land category 5 stars: 15 euros
For stays during low season 1/11 - 31/3:
