Facilities

This charming, small boutique-style hotel is a Schauinsland-Reisen original, one of Malia's best-kept secrets, and the perfect expression of traditional island hospitality. Villa Sonia's 18 modern guest rooms, spread across two buildings connected by a tropical palm garden, feature a reception area with free Wi-Fi and a satellite TV lounge, as well as the "Edelweiss" café-cocktail bar. A lovingly prepared continental breakfast is served in the morning on the shaded terrace of the cafeteria, which is open all day. In the evening, the Edelweiss Cafe transforms into a relaxing lounge area where you can enjoy your drink or cocktail in a romantic atmosphere with carefully selected background music.
The swimming pool of the neighboring hotel (approx. 150 m away) can be used. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available by the pool and on the beach for a fee.

The bright and cheerfully designed double rooms (D) are equipped with a double bed or two single beds and feature satellite TV, a safe, free Wi-Fi, individually controlled air conditioning, coffee/tea making facilities, a mini-fridge, a bathroom with shower/toilet and hairdryer, and a balcony or terrace.
Also available as a single occupancy option (DE).

Double room Superior

Partially renovated in 2023, the Double Superior rooms (DSU) feature more modern furnishings while otherwise offering the same amenities as the Double rooms.

The Double Superior rooms with a small private garden (DAS) offer the same amenities as the Double Superior rooms, plus a small private garden.

Note on Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government is introducing a climate resilience levy to be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and will be tiered from €0.50 to €15 per day per room starting January 1, 2025.
