Location

The Phaea Cretan Malia, member of Design Hotels, is quietly located and serves as the ideal starting point for guests wishing to combine a relaxing beach holiday with the rich culture of the island of Crete. The beautiful hotel complex, with its relaxed, environmentally conscious atmosphere, is the perfect retreat for young families and couples. The focus here is on peace and relaxation in harmony with nature. The hotel offers 204 rooms spread across the main building and bungalows, a welcoming lobby with a 24-hour reception, Wi-Fi (free throughout the complex), a souvenir shop, a mini-market, the main restaurant with an outdoor terrace "Mediterraneo", the Italian à la carte restaurant "Almyra", the Cretan traditional à la carte restaurant "Mouries" serving regional dishes, the à la carte restaurant "Mezze" with Levantine cuisine, and the main bar "Melissi". In the beautifully landscaped garden area, there are 2 freshwater swimming pools (one heated during the shoulder seasons), a "Beach Shack" beach bar, a "The Crush" Sweet Corner, and the traditional Cretan coffee shop "Kafenio". Comfortable sun loungers with umbrellas and Bali beds invite you to relax by the pool. Sun loungers and umbrellas are also available free of charge on the beach. Beach towels are included.

Bungalow Type A Garden View

The spacious bungalows have a bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet, hairdryer, toiletries, bath towels, bathrobes, and slippers, Wi-Fi (included), safe, minibar (bottle of water included on arrival and refilled daily for AI guests), coffee/tea making facilities, LCD satellite TV, air conditioning, a seating area, and a furnished balcony or terrace. These rooms are located in the bungalow buildings (B2A/BI/B2B).

Bungalow side sea view

With the same amenities as Type A bungalows, these offer a side sea view (2BS).

Bungalow Pool Front

These have the same amenities as the Type A bungalows and are located on the ground floor with direct access to the pool with reserved sun loungers in front of the veranda or by the River Pool (GF2).

Bungalow Beachfront

Located in the first row on the beach, these bungalows have the same amenities as the Type A bungalows, plus a Nespresso machine, a seating area with a sofa bed, and a balcony or terrace with reserved sun loungers (2BB).
Cretan breakfast in the 'Mouries' restaurant is included.

Bungalow Swim Up

With the same amenities as the Bungalow Pool View rooms, these also feature sun loungers on the private terrace and direct access to the communal pool (BSW).

Breakfast/Half Board/All Inclusive

The main restaurant "Mediterraneo", with indoor and outdoor seating, offers Mediterranean buffets for breakfast and dinner. With ingredients from the hotel's own surroundings and a focus on Greek recipes, each dish reflects regional diversity.
Breakfast from 7:30 AM to 10 AM. Late riser's breakfast from 10 AM to 11 AM with selected items.
With half board, dinner from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM is also included (drinks at an extra charge).
Additionally, Cretan breakfast is available optionally for certain room types in the "Mouries" restaurant from 8 AM to 11 AM. Lunch is also available in the à la carte restaurants (at an extra charge).
Vegetarian dishes and special dietary menus are available upon request.
Appropriate attire is requested (no swimwear).

All Inclusive

Effortless All Inclusive

Breakfast (7:30 AM - 11 AM) and dinner (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM) are served buffet-style in the main restaurant "Mediterraneo".
Guests can also opt for breakfast at the Cretan à la carte restaurant "Mouries" (8 AM - 11 AM).
For lunch, light snacks are available from 12 PM to 5 PM at "The Beach Shack", as well as a selection of à la carte dishes at "Almyra" from 12:30 PM to 4 PM, and at "Mezze" restaurant from 12:30 PM to 5 PM.
Drinks such as water, soft drinks, juices, Greek beer, and a selection of wines are served with meals.
Dinner is also available at the à la carte restaurants "Mezze" (adults-only, 7 PM - 10:30 PM, June-September), "Almyra" (6:30 PM - 10:30 PM), and "Mouries" (6:30 PM - 10 PM) with reservation (selected drinks and dishes are only available at an extra charge), as well as at "The Beach Shack" (6:30 PM - 10:30 PM).
The "Kefanion" offers various coffee specialties and local spirits from 4 PM to 11 PM, and "The Crush" offers sweets like ice cream and waffles, as well as coffee from 11:30 AM to 6 PM.
A wide selection of local and international alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including water, soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee, aperitifs, rum, vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey, digestifs, and liqueurs, as well as cocktails, are included from 10:15 AM to 1 AM at the respective open bars.
Lunch baskets are available on request for excursions (orders should be placed one day in advance by 8 PM).
Smart casual attire is requested for dinner.

Not included in All Inclusive

Wine tasting and theme nights such as Cretan Soul program and Bostani event.
Selected premium drinks and some à la carte dishes in the restaurants are offered at an additional charge.
"Premium" minibar refill with local, healthy snacks.

Sports included

Open-air fitness area, yoga pavilion, Pilates, fully equipped gym with modern equipment, half basketball court.
Pedal boats, canoes, and SUPs are included per guest for half an hour, subject to availability.

Sports for a fee

Tennis court (included for AI guests, floodlight at an extra charge), tennis lessons (from third parties), billiards, water sports center, Crete Golf Club (15 minutes away with green fee discounts for hotel guests).
Phaea Cretan Malia is certified as a bike-friendly hotel by "NATTOUR". E-bikes are available for rent.

Note on Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from 1.1.2018 onwards, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which is to be paid by the guest on site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and ranges from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room from 1.1.2025.
