The quietly located Phaea Cretan Malia, a member of Design Hotels, is the ideal starting point for guests who want to combine a relaxing beach holiday with the rich culture of the island of Crete. The beautiful hotel complex with its relaxed, environmentally conscious atmosphere is the perfect retreat for young families and couples. The focus here is on peace and relaxation in harmony with nature. The hotel offers 204 rooms, spread across the main building and bungalows, an inviting lobby with a 24-hour reception, souvenir shop, mini-market, the main restaurant with an outdoor terrace "Mediterraneo", as well as the Italian à-la-carte restaurant "Almyra", the traditional Cretan à-la-carte restaurant "Mouries" with regional dishes, the à-la-carte restaurant "Mezze" with Levantine cuisine, and the main bar "Melissi". In the beautifully landscaped garden area, there are 2 freshwater swimming pools (one of which is heated in the transition months), a "Beach Shack" beach bar, a sweet corner called "The Crush", and the traditional Cretan coffee shop "Kafenio". Comfortable sun loungers with umbrellas and Balinese beds invite you to relax by the pool. Sun loungers and umbrellas are also available free of charge on the beach. These rooms are located in the bungalow buildings (BSW).
The "Vitality Bar" is exclusively accessible to guests in this room category. An olive oil tasting ritual and a Cretan herbal ritual are offered here.
The swim-up pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.

Junior Suite

The luxuriously equipped Junior Suites feature an open-plan living area with a visual partition from the sleeping area and are equipped with a bathroom with a walk-in shower, WC, hairdryer, toiletries, bath towels, bathrobes and slippers, safe, minibar (a bottle of water is included on arrival, and daily refilled for AI guests), coffee/tea station, Nespresso machine, LCD satellite TV, air conditioning, as well as a furnished, private balcony or terrace and reserved sun loungers (JS2).

Breakfast/Half board/All inclusive

The main restaurant "Mediterraneo", with indoor and outdoor areas, offers Mediterranean buffets for breakfast and dinner. With ingredients from the hotel's own surroundings and a focus on Greek recipes, every dish reflects the regional variety.
Breakfast from 7:30-10 a.m. Late riser breakfast from 10-11 a.m. with selected dishes.
With half board, dinner from 6:30-9:30 p.m. is also included.
Drinks are not included with dinner.
In addition, for certain room types, it is possible to have a Cretan breakfast in the "Mouries" restaurant from 8-11 a.m. Furthermore, lunch is possible in the à-la-carte restaurants (for an additional charge).
Vegetarian dishes and menus for special dietary needs are available on request.
We kindly ask for appropriate attire (no swimwear).

All Inclusive

Effortless All Inclusive

Breakfast (7:30-11 a.m.) and dinner (6:30-9:30 p.m.) are offered in buffet form in the main restaurant "Mediterraneo".
Alternatively, guests can also have breakfast in the Cretan à-la-carte restaurant "Mouries" (8-11 a.m.).
For lunch, there are light snacks from 12-5 p.m. at "The Beach Shack", as well as a selection of à-la-carte dishes in "Almyra" from 12:30-4 p.m. and in the "Mezze" restaurant from 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Drinks such as water, soft drinks, juices, Greek beer, and a selection of wines are served with meals.
Dinner is also possible in the à-la-carte restaurants "Mezze" (adults-only, 7-10:30 p.m., June-September), "Almyra" (6:30-10:30 p.m.), and "Mouries" (6:30-10 p.m.) with a reservation (selected drinks and dishes are only available for an additional charge), as well as in "The Beach Shack" (6:30-10:30 p.m.).
The "Kafenio" offers various coffee specialties and local spirits from 4-11 p.m., and "The Crush" offers treats like ice cream, waffles, and coffee from 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
A wide selection of local and international alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee, aperitifs, rum, vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey, digestifs, and liqueurs, as well as cocktails, are included from 10:15 a.m. - 1 a.m. at the currently open bars.
Lunch baskets for excursions are available on request (orders should be placed one day in advance by 8 p.m.).
Appropriate attire is requested for dinner.

Not included in All Inclusive

Wine tasting and themed evenings such as the Cretan Soul program and Bostani event.
Selected premium drinks and some à-la-carte dishes in the restaurants are offered for an additional charge.
"Premium" minibar refill with local, healthy snacks.

Sports included

In the "Mediterraneo" restaurant, there is a selection of children's dishes at the evening buffet, and in the "Almyra" restaurant, a kids' menu is offered for lunch and dinner (included with All Inclusive).

"The Place" for teens (from 13 years) with film evenings and more. The outdoor area has a large water trough and tall trees with hammocks. Table tennis and darts provide age-appropriate activities.
Snacks and drinks are included during film evenings when booking All Inclusive.
The lovingly designed treehouses in the garden are a special meeting place for families and offer plenty of space to play, have picnics, and relax amidst the beautiful gardens. Creative activities, treasure hunts, stories from Cretan mythology, as well as seasonal craft activities ensure varied experiences. Treehouse overnight stays as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner picnics are also offered for a fee. A reservation for all treehouse activities is required via the concierge.

Note regarding climate resilience levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and, as of January 1, 2025, is staggered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room.
For stays in high season April 1 - October 31:
