Surrounded by a palm oasis near the beach and the azure sea, the extremely charming Akrogiali Beach Hotel on Crete is a paradise of tranquility, idyllically situated in the vibrant resort town of Malia on the island of Crete in Greece.
Located directly on the gently sloping sandy beach, just approx. 35 km from Heraklion, the lively capital of the island of Crete, and only 300 meters from the bustling center of Malia.

With great attention to detail, this small Schauinsland-Reisen Original property presents itself in a modern design.
Together with the very warm and helpful nature of the owner, Loula, and her equally welcoming team, nothing stands in the way of a typical Greek holiday "like staying with friends."
Hospitality is lived here. In total, the property features 57 rooms spread across several buildings. Additionally, a reception with a small lobby, a swimming pool with a sun terrace, a children's pool, and a pool/snack bar are offered. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and available for a fee at the beach.

Accommodation

Studio Type A

The comfortably furnished studios (AST), located in the annex, are equipped with a double bed and feature a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe (for a fee), kitchenette with a 2-plate stove, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee/tea station, as well as a bathroom with a bathtub or shower/WC and a furnished balcony or terrace with a view of the garden.
Optionally available as a triple room (S2B) or for single occupancy (S1B).
The rooms are located in the annex, on the opposite side of the street. The beach is approx. 250 m from these rooms.

Studio side sea view

The studios with side sea view (M2S), located in the main building, have the same facilities as the Studio Type A but offer a side sea view.

Apartment side sea view

The apartments with side sea view (2AS/AIS), located in the main building, are equipped with a combined living/bedroom with sleeping space for up to 2 people (sofa beds) and feature a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe (for a fee), kitchenette with a 2-plate stove, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee/tea station, as well as a separate bedroom with a double bed, bathroom with shower/WC, and a furnished balcony with a side sea view.
Optionally available for single occupancy (1AS).

Destination information regarding climate resilience fee

For stays from January 1st, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and, as of January 1st, 2025, is tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 € per day and room.
