Location

Located at the foot of the White Mountains, the Orpheas Resort is very popular with regular German guests and is characterized by its individuality, loving design, and location 4 km away from Georgioupolis, one of the most beautiful places in Crete. The hotel is located directly on the 16 km long beach in the town of Kavros and near the idyllic freshwater Lake Kournas. The beautiful city of Chania is approx. 38 km away and the airport there is 48 km away. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 100 km. A bus stop can be reached after approx. 270 m.

Built in the Venetian style, the adults-only resort (bookable from 16 years of age) has a total of 86 rooms spread across the main building and bungalow buildings. In the main building, you will find the artistically designed entrance area with a 24-hour reception, lounge, TV corner, library, restaurant, and a terrace with a view of the freshwater pool, as well as a small holiday library. The extensive garden area houses the bungalow buildings, a freshwater pool with a sun terrace, and, near the beach, another freshwater pool with a beach bar and whirlpool. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and available for a fee at the beach. Pool towels are available free of charge. Wi-Fi is available free of charge in the reception area and in the rooms.

The double rooms feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, air conditioning, rental safe, satellite TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea station, and a balcony or terrace facing the street (D).
Optionally also available for single use (DE, also facing the street) or, for an extra charge, with a garden view (2GD) or more spacious and facing the sea (DY2).

Double Room Outdoor Whirlpool

The double rooms feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, air conditioning, rental safe, satellite TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea station, slippers, and a balcony or terrace with an outdoor whirlpool (G2J/2GI).
The whirlpool is not supervised by a lifeguard. We ask for cautious behavior and special attention when using this area.

Junior Suite Sea Side

The spacious junior suites feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, air conditioning, rental safe, satellite TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea station, a seating area, and a balcony or terrace facing the sea (JM2/J2I).

Suite Sea Side

The suites feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, air conditioning, rental safe, satellite TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea station, and a balcony or terrace facing the sea. The suites consist of a living/bedroom area with a visually separated sleeping area and are located on the sea side (2MZ).

Suite Sea Side Private Pool

With the same features as the Suite Sea Side, these also include bathrobes, slippers, and a small private pool (YSP).
The private pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. We ask for cautious behavior and special attention when using this area.

Half Board

Rich breakfast buffet (7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.) and dinner (6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) in buffet form with a cooking station invite you to enjoy.
In between, drinks, light snacks, and Cretan dishes are served at the beach bar (for a fee).

Destination information

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a local tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room as of January 1, 2025.
