Location

The small, very modern Sofia Resort hotel is quietly located approximately 900m from the sandy beach of Kavros. Shops and entertainment facilities are available in the village. Chania Airport is about 50 km away.

Facilities

Completely renovated in recent years (2019-2024), the schauinsland-reisen original house has 42 rooms. Further amenities include a reception (open 16 hours a day), a buffet restaurant with terrace and sea view, a lounge bar, and a pool snack bar. Wi-Fi is included throughout the premises. The highlight and centerpiece of the hotel is the rooftop bar with a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains and the sea, featuring a whirlpool, inviting guests to relax. The well-maintained outdoor area includes a swimming pool with a separate children's pool and sun terrace. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge by the pool and for a fee at the beach. Pool towels are available for a deposit; a fee applies for changing them.

Junior Suite Superior

The Junior Suites, freshly renovated in 2024, feature a shower/WC, toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning (included), ceiling fan, safety deposit box, satellite TV, Wi-Fi (included), kettle with tea/coffee, espresso machine (daily refill of capsules), a large mirror, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (JU2).

Junior Suite Private Pool

The Junior Suites, freshly renovated in 2024, are located on the first floor and, with the same amenities as the Junior Suites, offer a balcony and a private pool (ZJP/ZIP/2ZJ). This category is bookable for guests aged 13 and over.

Superior Suite

The suites, also renovated in 2024, are furnished in a modern design and feature a bedroom, a separate living area with a sofa bed, shower/WC, toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning (included), ceiling fan, safe, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, kettle with tea/coffee, espresso machine (daily refill of capsules), a large mirror, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (SU2/TUB). Also available for single occupancy (SU1/T1B).

Superior Suite Whirlpool

With the same amenities as the Superior Suites, these feature an outdoor whirlpool (PJ2). The whirlpool is not supervised by a lifeguard. Please pay close attention to your children when using this area and behave responsibly.

Superior Suite Private Pool

With the same amenities as the Superior Suites, these feature access via the terrace to a small pool (SP2/SUI/PG2). Bookable for guests aged 13 and over. Also available for single occupancy (SP1).

Maisonette 2 Bedrooms

The very spacious maisonettes, perfectly suited for families, are spread over two floors and, with the same amenities as the Superior Suite, feature two separate bedrooms and a living/sleeping area with a sofa bed (MN2).

Note on Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from 01.01.2018 onwards, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, payable by guests on-site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room from 01.01.2025.
