The hotel complex is located in the small village of Gouves, approximately 8 km from Hersonissos and just a few minutes' walk (approx. 300 m) from several pebble/sand swimming coves. There are various bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The distance to Heraklion airport is approx. 15 km.

This modern holiday resort features 450 rooms across 3 floors, a beautiful lobby with a 24-hour reception, Wi-Fi (included), an elevator (not in all buildings), the Dionysos main buffet restaurant (Greek and international cuisine), Camino Pizzeria, Zorbas Gyros and Texas Burger (12:00-18:00), an Asian à la carte restaurant, a Greek Meze restaurant, and a lounge bar with an outdoor terrace. The garden area includes 5 freshwater pools (one of which is heated in April, May, and October) with separate children's pools, a small water park (for children up to 6 years), a Splash water park (for children aged 6-12), a water park with 6 slides, several pool bars, an amphitheater, and a mini-market (for a fee). Sun loungers and sunshades are included on the sun terrace. Beach towels are provided free of charge.

The comfortably furnished family suites feature a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, minibar, satellite TV, a separate bedroom with air conditioning, further amenities in the bathroom, and a balcony or terrace (2FS).

Family suite Swim Up

Optionally, these family suites can also be booked with a terrace, sun loungers, and direct access to a sharing pool for an additional charge (S2O).
Alternatively, also available with a separate bedroom (S2W).
The swim-up pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for careful behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased potential danger for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, a minimum age of 6 years applies for children when booking these room types at Schauinsland-Reisen.

A smart-casual dress code applies for dinner in the restaurants.

Breakfast (7:30-10:30) is served as an American buffet in the main Dionysos restaurant. Late continental breakfast (10:30-11:00). Lunch (12:30-14:30) is a rich buffet in the main Dionysos restaurant.
Snacks such as gyros, burgers, and fresh oven-baked pizza are available from 12:00 to 18:00.
Dinner (18:30-21:30) is a buffet with show cooking and weekly theme nights in the main Dionysos restaurant. Once per stay, dinner can be enjoyed at the Asian à la carte restaurant or the Greek Meze restaurant (reservation required; bottled mineral water included, other drinks for an additional charge).
From 10:00 to 23:00, local brand soft drinks, coffee (filter coffee, espresso, cappuccino), tea, local draft beer, house wine (red, white, and rosé), imported spirits (Raki, brandy, ouzo, rum, gin, tequila, whiskey, vodka), long drinks, and selected cocktails are included at the bar currently in operation. All orders after 23:00 and premium spirits are available for an additional charge.

Sports included

Fitness center (10:00-18:00), table tennis, and padel (rackets/floodlights for a fee), volleyball, darts, and mini-football.

Billiards, as well as various water sports on the beach, such as surfing, pedal boats, or sailing, offered by local providers.

Note on climate resilience levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, to be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is scaled from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room as of January 1, 2025.
