Location

The Astoria is located at the entrance to the tranquil village of Agia Galini and is just a few minutes' walk from the sand/pebble beach and the harbor promenade with its taverns and shops. Heraklion Airport is 74 km away.

The small, family-run hotel is ideal for vacationers looking for peace and quiet. It has 26 rooms and also offers a reception (manned 16 hours a day), a breakfast room, and a bar with a terrace. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available at the beach for a fee.

Junior suite with side sea view

The junior suites offer the same facilities but are more spacious, were renovated in 2025, and offer an additional seating area (J2S).

Suite Penthouse Superior Whirlpool Sea View

The suites were also renovated in 2025 and, with the same facilities as the double rooms, consist of one room with an additional sofa bed and a terrace with a private whirlpool, sun loungers, and a sea view (PHS).
The whirlpool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased potential danger for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Meals

Breakfast or half board (May 1 - Oct 31)

Continental breakfast in buffet form from 8 - 11 am.
If half board is booked, dinner is included. This is not taken at the hotel, but at a tavern near the hotel. Drinks are available for an extra charge.
Stays in April and November can only be booked with breakfast.

Buffet with breakfast pastries, cereal dispensers, honey, jam, and fresh fruit.

Sports for a fee

Water sports on the beach provided by local vendors.

Note on climate resilience levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government has introduced a climate resilience levy, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and has been scaled from 0.50 Euro to 15 € per day and room since January 1, 2025.
For stays in the high season (April 1 - Oct 31):
1-2 star category: 2 Euro
3 star category: 5 Euro
4 star category: 10 Euro
5 star category: 15 Euro
For stays in the low season (Nov 1 - March 31):
1-2 star category: 0.50 Euro
