Location

Nestled in the tranquil hilly landscape of the Black Forest, the Hotel DER HIRSCHEN is located in the health resort of St. Märgen at an altitude of approximately 900 meters. The town center with small shops and restaurants is about 200 meters away. Sights such as the St. Märgen Monastery are located directly in the town. Popular excursion destinations like Thurner (approx. 4 km) or the Ravennaschlucht gorge (approx. 12 km) are easily accessible, and the city of Freiburg im Breisgau is about 20 km away.
In summer, the region is ideal for hiking, cycling, and enjoying nature in the clear Black Forest air. During the winter months, winter hiking trails and cross-country ski trails start directly at the hotel.

Facilities

The friendly hotel, partially renovated in 2022, offers a total of 39 units and consists of a main building as well as the nearby annex building “Lodge” (approx. 10 m away). Facilities include a reception, a terrace, a restaurant, and a hotel bar. For guests with electric vehicles, an e-bike charging station and an e-car charging station are available. Active vacationers, especially cyclists, benefit from a lockable bicycle storage room. The hotel is a non-smoking hotel; smoking is only permitted in designated areas.
