Location

The Heritance Ahungalla hotel is located on the popular southwest coast of Sri Lanka, right on the beautiful beach. Colombo International Airport is approx. 122 km away.

This luxury hotel with 152 rooms is picturesquely nestled in the landscape and features a reception, a coffee shop, and a nightclub. Culinary delights are provided by the main restaurant "Jute", the specialty restaurant "Upper Room", the "Wadiya" seafood restaurant, and three different bars. Heritance Aarah

Location

Tropical island with overwater villas and turquoise water.
Overwater bungalows with a pier in turquoise sea before a tropical beach.

The island is located in the almost untouched Raa Atoll and is surrounded by a dreamlike white sandy beach. The house reef is approx. 80 - 100 m away. The transfer time from Male airport is approx. 30 minutes by domestic flight to Dharavandoo Island airport and another 40-45 minutes by speedboat. The transfer time from Male International Airport by seaplane is approx. 45 minutes (bookable at an extra charge).

Facilities

The luxury resort offers a total of 150 villas and suites, some of which are the largest in the country. Guests are welcomed in the open-air reception. A total of six restaurants and five bars provide culinary variety. These include the all-day dining restaurant "Ralu" with its Mediterranean cuisine. "Ranba" awaits its guests with international and Asian cuisine. Fresh seafood is served in "Ginfiati" and homemade pizza is served in the "Pizza Shack". "Hathaa" surprises its guests with street food from Tokyo and Bangkok. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge by the pool and on the beach. A highlight of the island is the overwater infinity pool, which may be used exclusively by guests of the Ocean Suites.

Beach Villa

The Beach Villas (approx. 88 m² including outdoor area) are lined up along the beach and feature a large bathroom with outdoor shower, bathtub/WC, hairdryer, bathrobe/slippers, air conditioning, minibar, flat-screen TV, safe, tea/coffee maker, large daybed, and a large sun deck providing direct access to the beach. Beach Villa Pool

The rooms (approx. 93 m² including outdoor area) have the same facilities as the Beach Villas, featuring a larger outdoor area with private pool and sun loungers, and also provide direct beach access. (VPZ)
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, a minimum age of 6 years applies for children when booking these room types at schauinsland-reisen.

Ocean Villa

Same facilities as the Beach Villas, but built on stilts over the sea with direct access to the sea. (There is no outdoor shower). (2OV/OQ2)

Ocean Suite

All meals can be taken in one of the six restaurants (advance reservation required, meals in "Hathaa" at an extra charge). Depending on the restaurant, meals are served as a buffet or a la carte with live cooking stations. Themed nights also take place occasionally. A selection of snacks is offered at the pool during the day. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included at the bars that are currently open. Minibar is replenished once daily.
Additionally, guests receive the following amenities:
- A bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival
- One trial dive (approx. 15-20 minutes) per guest/stay
- One excursion (only possible on selected excursions) per person/stay

Speedboat: Service usually for arrivals/departures from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM // Domestic (domestic flight): Service usually for arrivals/departures from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM // Seaplane: Service usually for arrivals/departures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more until the onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers during the seaplane transfer.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. The costs for this must be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or long waiting times upon entry (in which case our local agency will take care of any overnight stay).

Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island), as well as currently most domestic flights, only operate during the day. It may therefore be necessary to spend an overnight stay in Male.
