Day 1: Minuwangoda
Arrival at Colombo airport and transfer to the hotel near the airport. Afternoon time to relax or Negombo city tour.
Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel Tamarind Tree or similar.
Day 2: Minuwangoda – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya
After breakfast, drive towards the Cultural Triangle with the first destination being Polonnaruwa, the second royal city of Sri Lanka, which is a World Heritage Site. Polonnaruwa experienced its heyday from the 11th – 13th century. The oversized Buddha statues of Gal Vihara, carved out of a rock, are also well-known. After the visit, by bicycle, continue to Sigiriya.
Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel Kasyapa Lion Rock or similar.
Day 3: Sigiriya
Early in the morning and before breakfast, the departure to the Pidurangala rock fortress begins to climb it. Afterwards return to the hotel for breakfast. Then you will explore Sigiriya with its diverse landscapes.
Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel Kasyapa Lion Rock or similar.
Day 4: Sigiriya – Matale – Kandy
After breakfast, stop on the way to Kandy in Matale to visit the impressive Muthumariamman Temple. On the way to Kandy, you will visit a typical spice and herb garden. Continue to Kandy, the last royal city of the country. During a city tour, you will visit the famous Temple of the Tooth and in the evening you will experience a cultural dance performance.
Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel Topaz or similar.
Day 5: Kandy-Nuwara Eliya
Departure to the train station after breakfast. From there, enjoy a train ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya to uncover the secret of the world-famous Ceylon tea.
Nuwara Eliya, also called "Little England," is still characterized by the English colonies today.
Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel Victoria Suites or similar.
Day 6: Nuwara Eliya-Udawalawe
After breakfast, head towards Udawalawe with the Buduruwagala Temple and its large Buddha statue. After checking in at the overnight hotel, visit Udawalawe National Park with its breathtaking landscape and the elephants living there.
Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel Nildiya Tents or similar.
Day 7: Udawalawe – Galle – Colombo
After breakfast, travel along the southwest coast, past the unique fortress city of Galle towards Colombo.
Overnight stay and dinner at The Ocean or similar.
Day 8: Colombo-Airport/Extension
Following breakfast, return to the airport or continue to the respective booked extension hotel.

In Sri Lanka, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it may be that only 1 or 2 large beds are available in total. **************************************

The beaches are generally public natural beaches. Depending on currents and weather conditions, beach sand can be eroded.

Diving season:
· On the east coast from the beginning of May to the end of September
· On the south coast year-round
· Southwest coast from the end of October to mid-April
