Location

Kurumba Maldives (approx. 500 x 300 m) is located on the southern edge of the North Male Atoll and impresses with a large lagoon with crystal-clear water and white, gently sloping beaches. The house reef is directly on the island. The main island of Male is not far away, with a transfer time of only 10 minutes by speedboat.

Facilities

This was one of the first resorts in the Maldives, and as such, it benefits from years of experience and a high standard of service. The warm hospitality is not only very popular with regular guests. The resort has 180 rooms spread across the island. Amenities include a reception area with a seating area, a small boutique, a souvenir shop, a jeweler, and an internet corner. For dining, there are 6 à la carte restaurants (Middle Eastern, Thai, Indian, Japanese, and international cuisine, as well as fish/seafood) and a buffet/main restaurant with international delicacies. Cool refreshments and delicious cocktails are served at a total of 3 bars and a shisha lounge. In the lushly planted garden area, 2 pools with sun loungers and a children's pool invite you to relax and unwind. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels are provided free of charge.

Accommodation

Superior Double

The Superior rooms, approx. 74 sqm, feature a queen-size bed, air conditioning and ceiling fan, safe (included), satellite TV, bathroom with bathtub and shower, bathrobes, hairdryer, outdoor shower, and minibar (for a fee) as well as coffee and tea making facilities. The rooms have a balcony or terrace.

Deluxe Bungalow

Same size as the Superior rooms, with a king-size bed and a veranda with a seating area.

Beachfront Deluxe Bungalow

Same amenities and size as the Deluxe Bungalows, with direct beach access.

Garden Pool Villa

At approx. 124 sqm, these villas are set within the tropical garden and also feature a living area with a seating area and a second TV (with sliding door), as well as a private pool with sun loungers.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons concerning children, Schauinsland-Reisen has a minimum age of 6 years for bookings of these room types.

Beach Villa

The approx. 103 sqm Beach Villas offer, with similar amenities to the Garden Pool Villas, an additional outdoor whirlpool.

Deluxe Pool Villa

With similar amenities to the Beach Villas, these are more spacious (approx. 160 sqm) and additionally feature a large veranda with a seating area and a private pool with sun loungers and a Bali bed (these rooms do not have a whirlpool).

All meals are served buffet-style in the main restaurant. With full board booked (only bookable until 10/01/24), a selection of drinks is included with lunch and dinner.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served buffet-style in the main restaurant. Snacks are available throughout the day, and coffee/cake in the afternoon. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks by the glass from 10 am to 1 am at the bars currently open. Additionally, guests receive a 50% discount on food in the à la carte restaurants (reservations required).

Speedboat: Operates for estimated arrival/departure between 5 am and 11 pm. // Domestic (inland flight): Operates for arrivals/departures between 9:30 am and 4 pm. // Seaplane: Operates approximately for arrivals/departures between 9 am and 3 pm.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more until further transfer are possible.
With seaplane transfers, there may be 1-2 intermediate landings.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. These costs are to be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or long immigration waiting times (our local agency will arrange an overnight stay in such cases).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on island location) and currently most inland flights only operate during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.
