Location

The paradisiacal island of Kanifushi is located in the Lhaviyani Atoll, north of the main island of Malé. It is shaped like a golf club and is approximately three kilometers long and 90 m wide. The inside of the atoll offers a palm-fringed, white dream beach right by the turquoise lagoon, while the outer side features a rocky coral beach. The seaplane transfer from the international airport takes approximately 35 minutes.

The luxurious 5* resort combines traditional Maldivian elements with natural materials from the tropical surroundings. The overall concept offers state-of-the-art comfort for the discerning guest. The resort consists of 162 detached, stylishly designed villas and suites, most of which offer sunset views and beach access on the inside of the atoll. These are separated from one another by tropical gardens, offering a unique level of privacy. At the "head" of the island on the inner side, you will find the main area of the island with a boat jetty, reception, and diving school. From there, you can reach the centrally located clubhouse and the kids' club. On the southern outer atoll side, you will find "The Liquid" bar and the main restaurant "The Spice," which offers a large selection of delicacies, as well as the large pool landscape (up to 50 m long) with a bar. The inviting spa complex is just a stone's throw away. At the other end of the island, there is another pool (adults only) with a sunset bar and restaurant. Opposite, right by the reef, are the specialty restaurants: "Just Veg" with vegetarian dishes and additionally "Ceylon Bliss" with Sri Lankan cuisine and street-food-style snacks from a food truck.

Accommodation

Sunset Beach Villa

The extremely spacious and high-quality furnished villas (approx. 100 m²) feature an open-air bathroom with whirlpool, hairdryer, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, flat-screen TV, telephone, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, and a private outdoor area with a daybed. Schauinsland-reisen guests exclusively receive a beach bag as a gift as well as a special turn-down service once per stay. (2BV).

Water Villa

With the same amenities as the Beach Villa but slightly larger (approx. 105 m²), the Water Villas additionally feature a Bluetooth speaker and a bathtub without a whirlpool. The villas are built on stilts over the water with direct access to the sea (W2V). Available at an extra charge, they can also be positioned for sunset views and include a private pool (2OT).

Sunset Beach Villa Pool

Featuring the same amenities as the Beach Villas, these additionally include an outdoor pool, are more spacious (192 m²), and offer sunset views (V2S).

Kanifushi Beach Villa Pool

The Beach Villa Pool features the same amenities as the Beach Villa plus a private 30 m² pool in the private garden area with a veranda and cozy seating (VPZ).

Premium All Inclusive

All meals are served as a buffet with live cooking, grills, and themed evenings at the main restaurant, "The Spice." Snacks and à-la-carte lunch at "The Sunset" and vegetarian dinner at "Just Veg" are included. The "Teppanyaki" restaurant with dishes from the Japanese grill is always extra.
1x per week "fine-dining à-la-carte" at "The Sunset" or at "The Pier Six."
Spirits, beer, and liqueurs (including premium brands) are available at the pool bars and the restaurants "Just Veg" and "The Spice." In addition, unlimited cocktails, mocktails, numerous fresh juices, soft drinks, mineral water, a selection of tea and coffee specialties, various wines, and sparkling wine are included from 10:00 AM to midnight. The minibar is replenished twice daily with soft drinks, mineral water, beer, wine, and salted snacks.
1x per stay excursion for sunset fishing and 1 further excursion (choosable on-site).
Snorkeling equipment is provided for the entire duration of the stay.
Two snorkeling excursions (depending on weather conditions) take place daily and are included.

Speedboat: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM // Domestic flight: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM // Seaplane: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers during seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside of these times, an overnight stay in Malé must be booked in advance. Costs for this are to be borne by the guest. Exceptions include changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or longer waiting times at immigration (in these cases, our local agency will take care of any necessary overnight stay).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location) as well as currently most domestic flights are only operated during daylight hours. An overnight stay in Malé may therefore be necessary.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, there may only be a total of 1 or 2 large beds available. Consequently, it may happen that when 2 adults + 1 or 2 children are in a room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed.
