Location

The paradisiacal island of Kanifushi is located in the Lhaviyani Atoll, north of the main island of Malé. It is shaped like a golf club and is approximately three kilometers long and 90 m wide. The inside of the atoll offers a palm-fringed, white dream beach right on the turquoise lagoon, while the outer side has a rocky coral beach. The seaplane transfer from the international airport takes approximately 35 minutes.

The luxurious 5* resort combines traditional Maldivian elements with natural materials from the tropical environment. The overall concept offers state-of-the-art comfort for the discerning guest. The complex consists of 162 detached, stylishly landscaped villas and suites, most of which offer sunset views and beach access on the inside of the atoll. They are separated from each other by the tropical garden, offering a unique level of privacy. At the "head" of the island on the inner side, you will find the main area of the island with a boat jetty, reception, and diving school. From there, you can reach the centrally located clubhouse and the kids' club. On the southern outer atoll side, you will find the "The Liquid" bar and the main restaurant "The Spice," which offers a large selection of delicacies, as well as the large pool landscape (up to 50 m long) with a bar. The inviting spa complex is just a stone's throw away. At the other end of the island, there is another pool (adults only) with a sunset bar and restaurant. Opposite, right by the reef, are the specialty restaurants: "Just Veg" with vegetarian dishes and "Ceylon Bliss" with Sri Lankan cuisine and street-food-style snacks from a food truck.

Accommodation

Sunset Beach Villa

The extremely spacious and high-quality furnished villas (approx. 100 m²) feature an open-air bathroom with a whirlpool, hairdryer, air conditioning, fan, safe, flat-screen TV, telephone, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, and a private outdoor area with a daybed. Schauinsland-Reisen guests exclusively receive a beach bag as a gift and a special turn-down service once per stay. (2BV).

Water Villa

With the same amenities as the Beach Villa but slightly larger (approx. 105 m²), the Water Villas additionally feature a Bluetooth speaker and a bathtub without a whirlpool. The villas are built on stilts over the water with direct access to the sea (W2V). Also available with a sunset view and private pool for an extra charge (2OT).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Sunset Beach Villa Pool

Equipped with the same amenities as the Beach Villas, these additionally feature an outdoor pool, are more spacious (192 m²), and have a sunset view (V2S).

Kanifushi Beach Villa Pool

The Beach Villa Pool features the same amenities as the Beach Villa, with the addition of a private 30 m² pool in the private garden area with a veranda and comfortable seating (VPZ).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Premium All Inclusive

All meals are served as a buffet with live cooking, grills, and theme nights at the main restaurant "The Spice." Snacks, à la carte lunches at "The Sunset," and vegetarian dinners at "Just Veg" are included. The "Teppanyaki" restaurant with food from the Japanese grill is always extra.
Once per week, enjoy "fine-dining à la carte" at "The Sunset" or "The Pier Six."
Spirits, beer, and liqueurs (including premium brands) are available at the pool bars and the restaurants "Just Veg" and "The Spice." In addition, unlimited cocktails, mocktails, numerous fresh juices and soft drinks, mineral water, a selection of tea and coffee specialties, various wines, and sparkling wine are included from 10:00 AM to midnight. The minibar is refilled twice daily with soft drinks, mineral water, beer, wine, and salty snacks.
Once per stay, enjoy an excursion for sunset fishing and one additional excursion (selectable on-site).
Snorkeling equipment is provided for the entire duration of the stay.
Two snorkeling excursions (subject to weather conditions) take place daily and are included.
Non-motorized water sports are included, and there is a 20% discount on the first 2 regular dives (a PADI certificate is required).
Free access to the sports and fully equipped fitness center with tennis court, fitness equipment, and indoor games.
Spa treatments are included depending on the length of stay (e.g., a 45-minute treatment for stays of 4-7 nights, for adults).

Non-motorized water sports are included and there is a 20% discount on the first 2 regular dives (a PADI certificate is required). The "The Essens Wellness and Spa" offers a comprehensive wellness program with immersive spa experiences, yoga and detox sessions, healing rituals, as well as hairdressing and beauty care. Local Maldivian ingredients are used exclusively to promote a holistic renewal of body and mind.

Speedboat: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM // Domestic flight: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM // Seaplane: Operation expected for arrivals/departures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfers are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers during the seaplane transfer.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Malé must be booked in advance. The costs for this are to be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes caused by flight delays, bad weather, or long waiting times upon entry (in these cases, our local agency will take care of a possible overnight stay).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island), as well as currently most domestic flights, only operate during the day. It may therefore be necessary to stay overnight in Malé.

The baggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 3 kg of hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on-site (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered by boat.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it is possible that only 1 or 2 large beds are available in total. Consequently, it may happen that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child has to sleep in the parents' bed.
