Location

The private island of JA Manafaru (800m x 600m), surrounded by lush vegetation, is located in the north of the Maldives in the Haa-Alifu Atoll. The house reef is only approx. 70 m from the island. The destination airport, Malé, is approx. 320 km away and can be reached in approx. 50 minutes by domestic flight to Hoarafushi or Hanimaadhoo, followed by a speed boat ride of approx. 10 minutes (from Hoarafushi) or 40 minutes (from Hanimaadhoo). A seaplane transfer (approx. 70 minutes) can be booked on request for an additional charge.

Facilities

The luxurious resort has a total of 84 villas. In addition to the reception area, the complex features a boutique, a jeweler, and a hair salon. Four restaurants cater to your culinary needs. The fusion restaurant "White Orchid," built over the water, pampers you with modern Asian cuisine, and you can enjoy grilled specialties at the "Ocean Grill" restaurant. The open-air main restaurant "Kakuni" offers varied buffets, while you can get Italian delicacies at the "Andiamo Bistro" by the pool. Further resort facilities include the "Infinity Bar," the "The Cellar" wine cellar (which also hosts special dinners), the "Horizon Lounge," and a swimming pool. Sun loungers, bath towels, and sun umbrellas are available free of charge.

Beach Villa Pool

The Beach Villas with pool (approx. 200 m²) are located directly on the beach and feature a combined living and sleeping area, an open bathroom with a freestanding bathtub, separate shower, separate outdoor shower and WC, hairdryer, bathrobe/slippers, TV, CD/DVD player, telephone, air conditioning, ceiling fan, minibar (for a fee), wine cooler, tea maker, Nespresso machine, safe, terrace, and a beach pavilion with sun loungers, as well as a private garden with its own pool (located towards the island's interior), sun loungers, and a pavilion with a daybed (VPZ).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booked into these room types for safety reasons.

Sunrise Water Villa Pool

The Water Villas (approx. 135 m²) are built on stilts over the sea and feature an enclosed bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub but no outdoor shower, a glass floor in the living area, and an outdoor wooden deck with sun loungers, a traditional Maldivian swing, a private infinity pool, and direct access to the sea (2OR).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booked into these room types for safety reasons.

Meals

Half board

Breakfast in the "Kakuni" restaurant with buffet and à-la-carte selection. Dinner as "Dine Around" in the resort's open restaurants and at selected theme nights. Dinner includes a 3-course menu (appetizer, main course, and dessert) with water included with meals. The "Wine Cellar" and teppanyaki experiences are available for an extra charge and are not part of the half-board plan.

Full board

Breakfast in the "Kakuni" restaurant with buffet and à-la-carte selection. Lunch and dinner as "Dine Around" in the resort's open restaurants and at selected theme nights. Lunch as a 2-course menu, dinner as a 3-course menu (each consisting of an appetizer, main course, and dessert). Water is included with meals. The "Wine Cellar" and teppanyaki experiences are available for an extra charge and are not part of the full-board plan.

Breakfast buffet in the main restaurant "Kakuni," lunch and dinner as "Dine-Around." There are specifically labeled dishes in the restaurants; the "The Cellar" restaurant is excluded from the "Dine-Around." Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (e.g., water, soft drinks, coffee, beer, house wine, selected spirits) are included from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, plus the minibar (selected drinks, one refill per day) and unlimited use of non-motorized water sports.

Sports included

Fitness center, tennis, table tennis, billiards, yoga (by prior arrangement), beach volleyball, snorkeling equipment, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, pedal boat, kayak, and catamaran sailing (upon presentation of a sailing license; non-motorized water sports included for one hour per day and villa).

Sports for a fee

PADI diving school, deep-sea fishing, sailing, motorized water sports.

Children's program

"Cool Zone Kids Club" for children aged 3-12 years and the "Chill Zone Teens Club" for children aged 8-16 years (there is no childcare provided/parents are responsible for their children). There is a separate children's pool, a play area, a video room, and a relaxation room.

Wellness

Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 intermediate stops on seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Malé must be booked in advance. The costs for this must be borne by the guest. Excluded are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or long waiting times at immigration (in these cases, our local agency will take care of a potential overnight stay).

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it may be that only 1 or 2 large beds are available in total. Consequently, it may happen that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed. Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island), as well as currently most domestic flights, only operate during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Malé may be necessary.

The baggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 3 kg of hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on-site (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered later by boat.

In the Maldives, sinks or even bathtubs/whirlpools can be openly integrated into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.
