The resort is located on the private island of Kedigandu in the Dhaalu Atoll and is connected by a walkway to the neighboring island and its sister hotel, Riu Atoll Maafushi. The transfer is via domestic flight (approx. 45 minutes) to the airport island of Kudahuvadhoo, followed by a speedboat transfer (approx. 15 minutes). A seaplane transfer (approx. 45 minutes) can be booked for an extra charge and upon request.

Facilities

The Riu Palace Maldivas on Kedhigandu Island, newly opened in August 2019, features 176 rooms distributed on the island and on stilts over the sea. Amenities include an open-plan lobby with reception and seating areas that invite you to linger. Dining options include the main restaurant, a specialty restaurant (Japanese cuisine), a fusion restaurant, two specialty restaurants at Riu Atoll (Italian and steakhouse), and three bars (two of which are at Riu Atoll). The outdoor infinity pool with a swim-up bar (access to the swim-up bar from 18 years) invites you to relax. Sun loungers, pool towels, and parasols are, of course, available free of charge.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suite is approx. 40 m² in size, is located on the 1st floor, and features a bathroom with a shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobe, a combined living/bedroom with air conditioning (centrally controlled), safe, ceiling fan, beverage dispenser, seating area, sofa, kettle, minibar, telephone, TV, and a balcony with sea view (JOV/JOE).

Beach Junior Suite

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, located on the ground floor with a terrace and direct beach access (J2V/J1V).

Overwater Suite

The Overwater Suite is approx. 47 m² and, with the same amenities as the Junior Suite Ocean View, features a terrace with a Balinese bed, bathtub, and direct access to the sea. These suites are located on stilts over the water (W2O).

Overwater Suite Private Pool

The Overwater Suite Private Pool is approx. 60 m² and, with the same amenities as the Overwater Suite, additionally features a separate bathtub in the bathroom and a private pool (O2G).

Varied breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner also in buffet form (various theme nights 3x per week) as well as 24-hour snacks. Optional à la carte dinner by reservation. Domestic and international non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages as well as selected premium drinks 24 hours a day at the respective open bars. Replenishing the minibar and beverage dispensers in the rooms is free of charge. Additionally, all facilities of the Riu Atoll can be used.

Sports included

Fitness room, group fitness classes in the RiuFit area (daily), kayaking, pedal boats, stand-up paddling, surfing (SUP), snorkeling equipment, and 1x introductory scuba diving lesson.

Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers during seaplane transfers.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it may be that there are only 1 or 2 large beds in total. Accordingly, it may happen that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed. Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island), as well as currently most domestic flights, are only carried out during the day. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.
