Location

The resort is located on the private island of Kedigandu in the Dhaalu Atoll and is connected by a walkway to the neighboring island and its sister hotel, Riu Atoll Maafushi. The transfer is via domestic flight (approx. 45 minutes) to the airport island of Kudahuvadhoo, followed by a speedboat ride (approx. 15 minutes). A seaplane transfer (approx. 45 minutes) is available for an extra charge and upon request.

Facilities

Newly opened in August 2019, the Riu Palace Maldivas on Kedhigandu Island features 176 rooms located both on the island and on stilts over the ocean. Amenities include an open-air lobby area with a reception and seating areas that invite you to relax. Dining options include a main restaurant, a specialty restaurant (Japanese cuisine), a fusion restaurant, as well as two specialty restaurants at Riu Atoll (Italian and steakhouse) and three bars (two of which are in Riu Atoll). The outdoor infinity pool with a swim-up bar (access to swim-up bar from age 18) is perfect for unwinding. Sun loungers, pool towels, and parasols are provided free of charge.

Junior Suite

The junior suite is approx. 40 m², located on the 1st floor, and features a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobe, a combined living/bedroom with air conditioning (centrally controlled), safe, ceiling fan, beverage dispenser, seating area, sofa, electric kettle, minibar, telephone, TV, and a balcony with sea view (JOV/JOE).

Beach Junior Suite

Same features as the junior suite, but located on the ground floor with a terrace and direct beach access (J2V/J1V).

Overwater Suite

The overwater suite is approx. 47 m² and offers the same features as the Junior Suite Ocean View, plus a terrace with a Balinese bed, bathtub, and direct access to the sea. These suites are located on stilts over the water (W2O).

Overwater Suite Private Pool

The Overwater Suite Private Pool is approx. 60 m² and offers the same features as the Overwater Suite, with the addition of a separate bathtub in the bathroom and a private pool (O2G).

Varied breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner also in buffet style (various themed evenings 3x per week), as well as 24-hour snacks. Optional à la carte dinner upon reservation. Domestic and international non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and selected premium drinks available 24 hours a day at the respective open bars. Refilling of the minibar and beverage dispensers in the rooms is free of charge. Additionally, guests can use all facilities at the Riu Atoll.

Sports included

Gym, group fitness classes in the RiuFit area (daily), kayaking, pedal boats, stand-up paddling, surfing (SUP), snorkeling equipment, and 1x introductory scuba diving session.

Sports for a fee

PADI diving center and motorized water sports on the beach.

Children's program

For our younger guests, the "RIULand" kids' club (ages 4-12) is available at Riu Atoll.

Speedboat: Operation for anticipated arrivals/departures from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. // Domestic flight: Operation anticipated for arrivals/departures from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. // Seaplane: Operation anticipated for arrivals/departures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfers are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers for seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Malé must be booked in advance. The costs for this are to be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or long waiting times at customs (in this case, our local agency will take care of a potential overnight stay).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location) as well as currently most domestic flights are only carried out during the day. It may therefore be necessary to spend an overnight stay in Male.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it may be the case that only 1 or 2 large beds are available in total. Accordingly, it may happen that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed. Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location) as well as currently most domestic flights are only carried out during the day. It may therefore be necessary to spend an overnight stay in Male.

The baggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 5 kg hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on-site (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is generally delivered later by boat.
