1st Day: Arrival in Muscat
Arrival at Muscat International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Muscat.
2nd Day: Muscat
During a guided tour, participants will discover the cultural highlights of the Omani capital. In addition to major sights, the program includes a visit to the traditional district of Mutrah with its waterfront promenade and the lively souq. Overnight stay in Muscat.
3rd Day: Wadi Dayqah – Wakan
Today, the trip leads into the charming landscapes of the Omani hinterland. The Wadi Dayqah reservoir is impressive with its backdrop of rugged mountains, while the mountain village of Wakan, with its traditional terraced gardens and stunning views, offers an authentic insight into rural Oman. Overnight stay in Muscat.
4th Day: Muscat – Bimmah Sinkhole – Wadi Shab/Wadi Tiwi – Sur
Along the coastal road, the route first heads to the Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural limestone basin with crystal-clear water. Subsequently, the program includes Wadi Shab or Wadi Tiwi with their green oasis landscapes and spectacular rock formations. After the included lunch, continue to Sur. Overnight stay in Sur.
5th Day: Sur – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands
The journey first leads to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman. Turquoise natural pools and lush vegetation form a charming contrast to the surrounding mountain landscape. In the afternoon, continue to Wahiba Sands with its vast dune landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay in the desert camp.
6th Day: Wahiba Sands – Nizwa
The day begins with a relaxed morning in the desert and offers the opportunity to enjoy the special atmosphere of the Wahiba Sands once again. Afterwards, continue to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman. Overnight stay in Nizwa.
7th Day: Nizwa – Bahla – Jabreen
Today, the focus is on the cultural highlights of the Omani hinterland. In Nizwa, the historic old town and the traditional fortress region are explored. Subsequently, visits to Bahla and Jabreen lead to some of the most significant historical buildings in the country. Lunch included. Overnight stay in Nizwa.
8th Day: Al Hamra – Misfat Al Abriyeen – Jabal Shams
The route first leads to Al Hamra, one of the oldest places in Oman. Afterwards, the picturesquely situated mountain village of Misfat Al Abriyeen is visited, with its traditional mud-brick houses and terraced gardens. Continue to Jabal Shams, the highest mountain in the country. Dinner and overnight stay at Jabal Shams.
9th Day: Jabal Shams
Spectacular views await participants along the viewpoints of the so-called "Grand Canyon of Oman". During a guided light hike, the impressive gorges and mountain landscapes can be experienced particularly intensely. Overnight stay at Jabal Shams.
10th Day: Jabal Shams – Omani Hinterland – Muscat
After breakfast, return trip through the impressive landscapes of the Omani mountains to Muscat. In the evening, a joint farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Muscat.
11th Day: Departure from Muscat
Transfer to Muscat International Airport and individual return journey.
