Location

The Riu Palace Zanzibar is a luxury hotel with an excellent location directly on Nungwi Beach, one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches on the island. The island's airport and Zanzibar City, the capital with the historic centre of Stone Town, are about an hour's drive away. Numerous restaurants and bars can be reached in just a few minutes' walk.

Facilities

The family-friendly hotel at the northern tip of Unguja, the main island of the Zanzibar archipelago, features 301 rooms and suites, a lobby with a reception (24h), restaurants (steakhouse, fusion, Mediterranean, grill, etc.), 4 bars, shops, and a wellness centre.
The spacious outdoor area includes 4 pools and a relaxation pool in the spa area. In addition, guests can relax in the hotel's own garden area in tropical weather. Sun loungers and parasols are included at the pools and on the beach.

Junior Suite

The spacious rooms (approx. 45 m²) are equipped with a king-size bed (200x200cm) or two double beds (110x200cm), WC/shower, hairdryer, telephone (for a fee), TV, centrally controlled air conditioning, safe, minibar, and balcony or terrace (JS2). With the same amenities as the Junior Suites, the suites are more spacious (approx. 51 m²) (S2).

Beach Villa

Only bookable from 13 years of age. The beach villas are approx. 90 m² in size and feature a 200x200 cm bed, a sofa bed in the living area, whirlpool, satellite TV, air conditioning, electric kettle, safe, and a private pool with sun loungers on the terrace.

We would like to inform you that all airlines from Tanzania are currently on the EU's so-called ‘blacklist’. For this reason, they are currently not authorised to operate long-haul flights to the EU. We are therefore not currently using any of these airlines for our long-haul flights to the EU.
The lack of authorisation is not due to specific safety problems with the individual airlines, but rather to the inspection and safety procedures of the Tanzanian aviation authority, which do not currently meet the safety requirements of the EU.
However, the airlines that we use for domestic flights (for example, for transfer flights from Zanzibar to mainland Tanzania) are subject to the international safety assessment ISSA of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) or a comparable safety assessment. These assessments correspond to the globally recognised safety standards of the aviation industry.
