Location

The luxurious beach resort is located on the beautiful northeast coast of the island of Zanzibar, right on the fine, pearly-white sandy beach.
From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean.
Surrounded by approx. 15 hectares of tropical gardens with more than 1000 palm trees, the resort is one of the most prestigious hotel complexes in Zanzibar.
The international airport, Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, is about 50 minutes away. Restaurants, bars, a pharmacy, and a medical center are located in the immediate vicinity.

The renovated complex, designed in the local style, has a total of 130 rooms.
Your holiday resort features a lobby with a reception area including an internet corner, Wi-Fi, as well as a buffet restaurant and 3 themed restaurants (including an Indian, an Italian, and a Wok restaurant). The Indian restaurant is located at the Sultan Sands Island Resort & Spa. A reservation is required and is included in the price within the AI concept. Bluebay guests also have the option to use the restaurants at the sister hotel, Sultan Sands (not vice versa). For lunch, guests can also use one of the four à-la-carte restaurants, including 2 new ones or the Bahari Grill and Blue Marlin (only for a fee and with advance reservation). In addition, there is a cafe, a pool bar, and, in the beautiful garden area, a new infinity pool, two swimming pools, and a whirlpool.

Deluxe Double Room

The Deluxe Double Rooms have been renovated. The rooms are equipped with a bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar (for a fee), coffee and tea-making facilities, hairdryer, telephone, and a balcony or veranda with garden view. Available with a sea view for an additional charge or as a double room for single use.

Equipped like the double rooms, these are more spacious and offer a separate dressing room, a private living area, as well as a terrace with an outdoor shower (JS2/JS1, bookable until 31.10.26).

We would like to inform you that all airlines from Tanzania are currently on the EU's so-called ‘blacklist’. For this reason, they are currently not authorised to operate long-haul flights to the EU. We are therefore not currently using any of these airlines for our long-haul flights to the EU.
The lack of authorisation is not due to specific safety problems with the individual airlines, but rather to the inspection and safety procedures of the Tanzanian aviation authority, which do not currently meet the safety requirements of the EU.
However, the airlines that we use for domestic flights (for example, for transfer flights from Zanzibar to mainland Tanzania) are subject to the international safety assessment ISSA of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) or a comparable safety assessment. These assessments correspond to the globally recognised safety standards of the aviation industry.
