Location

The exclusive 5-star "Bawe Island Resort," part of the luxurious "Cocoon Collection" hotel chain, is located on the approximately 30-hectare island of the same name. After arriving at Zanzibar International Airport, guests are transferred by shuttle for about 20 minutes to the capital, Stone Town. From there, a speedboat takes approximately 15 minutes to Bawe Island. The speedboat transfer is organized by the hotel and is free of charge for all guests for arrival and departure, provided the stay is 3 days or longer (for stays under 3 days, it costs 500 USD per person).

The resort comprises 70 exclusive villas, each with a private pool and butler service, set amidst lush and wild nature. The island resort offers maximum privacy and exclusivity while being in close proximity to the capital, allowing for the booking of various excursions at any time. This luxury hotel features a unique "Dine-Around" concept with 4 à la carte restaurants: "The Sand," the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner; "Rising Sun," an Asian Teppanyaki restaurant; "Sinfonia," offering Italian cuisine; and "The Beach Club," exclusively for adults from 10 am to 6 pm. There is also "The View Bar" with occasional live music and DJ performances.

Accommodation

Sunrise Villa (SV2)

Each accommodation offers absolute privacy and total relaxation with its own pool and a large terrace with seating and sea views. Decorated in an African and modern style, each accommodation includes the following amenities: air conditioning, fan, bathroom by Villeroy & Boch with a separate shower, Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, relaxation area, telephone, minibar & spirits, ice cube machine, safe (electronic code), TV, room service, Nespresso coffee machine, free Wi-Fi, Frette bed linen and towels, and Etro amenities. The approximately 200 sqm Sunrise Villas are located on the east side of the island, offering wonderful sunrises. Each room features a king-size canopy bed, a spacious living area with two comfortable armchairs, and a daybed that can easily be converted into a comfortable extra bed.

Sunset Suite (SUN)

The approximately 240 sqm Sunset Suites feature the same amenities as the Sunrise Villas but are located on the west side of the island, offering breathtaking sunsets. Each suite has a king-size canopy bed, a large sunken living area, and the possibility to accommodate two extra beds (sofa beds). Sunset Suites are the perfect accommodation for couples and small families.

Lagoon Suite with Pool (L2F)

The approximately 170 sqm Lagoon Suites have the same features as the Sunrise Villas. Additionally, these are spectacular overwater villas built over a beautiful crystal lagoon, characterized by a refined and contemporary interior design. They are located on the east side of the island and feature a large terrace with a swimming pool and a private butler.

Zanzibar Villa (V12)

The approximately 310 sqm Zanzibar Villas have the same features as the Sunrise Villas. Additionally, they are located directly on the beach with direct beach access. The villa entrance opens to a large open-air living room with a lounge area and Etro sofas. Further amenities include 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a corner bar, and a kitchen. The living room opens onto a large veranda with a dining table, sofas, and comfortable loungers, where guests can cool off with a dip in the private swimming pool or enjoy the seclusion of a private garden.

Sultan Palace (S2U)

The approximately 500 sqm Sultan Palace is unique and features the same amenities as the Sunrise Villas. Additionally, it is spread over 2 levels. The ground floor includes two bedrooms with a large living room and kitchen area. The first floor houses the "Sultan" bedroom with a walk-in closet and a large bathroom. This villa can accommodate up to 9 people.
