Travel information

Combination package consisting of a Nile cruise on the MS Steigenberger Minerva and a beach holiday, including all transfers. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most reasonably priced available room category. Embarkation always takes place on Thursdays. The trip must be started at least one day in advance, as an overnight stay beforehand is mandatory. The earliest possible embarkation is always selected.

Notice

The travel package you have chosen has a duration of 14 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always for seven days according to the program. The pre- and post-stay at the hotel depends on your day of arrival and the day of embarkation. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

1st Day:
Embarkation takes place on Thursdays.
Arrival and embarkation. Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
2nd Day:
Morning after breakfast, excursion to the West Bank of Thebes
to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
3rd Day:
Morning after breakfast, visit to Medinet Habu Temple (1,2,3).
Then continue sailing to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and sail to Kom Ombo, where you have free time at your leisure.
Continue sailing to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
4th Day:
Morning after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam and the Old Dam in Aswan (1,2,3).
Afterwards, visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca trip on the Nile (1,2,3)
Afterwards, opportunity for a camel ride (3) on the way to visiting a Nubian village, with the desert on one side and the Nile on the other (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
5th Day:
Early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3). Breakfast box is included.
Lunch on board. Overnight stay and dinner on board.
6th Day:
Breakfast on board. Afterwards, visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo (1,2,3).
Then continue via Edfu and Esna to Luxor.
Overnight stay and dinner on board.
7th Day:
At 5 a.m., balloon excursion (optional, can be booked on site).
Breakfast, visit to the East Bank, the Karnak Temple, and the Luxor Temple (1,2,3).

The Nile cruise ship of the renowned Steigenberger hotel chain features a total of 77 exterior cabins distributed over several decks. Furthermore, there is a main restaurant, a 24-hour reception, a lounge bar, a hairdresser (on request), a souvenir shop, and a sun deck with a pool and bar. Bath towels are included on board.

JAZ Elite Amara Resort

The JAZ Amara Resort, newly opened in December 2023, is situated on a beautiful, gently shelving beach section in the first row of the popular Marsa Mares Bay. The bay is particularly well-known for its sea turtles and features a house reef that invites you to snorkel and dive. Your holiday home is located approximately 8 kilometers from Marsa Alam Airport. Various shopping opportunities with bars and restaurants can be found at the port of Port Ghalib (about 5 kilometers away).

Facilities

The stylishly built hotel complex comprises a total of 272 rooms and suites distributed throughout the grounds. This includes various superior and deluxe rooms, suites, and swim-up rooms. Your holiday resort surprises with a very appealing, elegant design and has been generously conceived. The impressive reception area offers a direct view of the sea, the resort, and the bay, and features a reception desk with various seating areas and a lobby bar. The outdoor area has a large pool landscape that flows through the complex. Seven different pools await you, including a children's pool, a baby pool, and a jacuzzi (partially heatable in winter). Sun loungers and umbrellas are available to guests at the pool area as well as at the private beach section free of charge; pool and beach towels are already provided in the rooms. The comfortably furnished Superior Double Rooms (DSU, approx. 51m²) feature a walk-in shower/WC, individually adjustable air conditioning, minibar and telephone (both for a fee), Wi-Fi (included), LED TV, and a minibar. The rooms are equipped with either a king-size bed or two single beds. There is also a tea and coffee station in the room. The rooms have a terrace or balcony. Superior Swim-up Double Room (Value Room)

The Superior Swim-up double rooms (DWP) have the same features as the Superior double rooms, but with direct access to the sharing pool and sun loungers on the terrace. The rooms also feature the following amenities exclusive to Schauinsland-Reisen:
- Fruit basket upon arrival in the room
- VIP treatment upon arrival: coffee/tea maker in the room, plus 2 bathrobes, various snacks such as apples, berries, chocolate, macarons, nuts, and various Arabic pastries.

The Royal Suites (RS) are 153m² in size and, with the same amenities as the Superior double rooms, include a king-size bed as well as a dining group. The rooms also have a lush terrace with access to a private pool (heatable in winter) and direct sea view.

The main restaurant "Marasi Restaurant" offers international cuisine for breakfast (07:00-10:00), lunch (12:30-14:30), and dinner (19:00-22:00) in buffet form. In addition, a late-riser breakfast is available there from 10:30-12:00. There are also two à-la-carte restaurants available to guests (reservation required), which are included three times per stay/guest (except Teppanyaki), but are subject to a fee thereafter: "Tao Tao" restaurant with a selection of Asian dishes such as sushi, sashimi, Japanese dishes, or Teppanyaki. The à-la-carte restaurant "Bay View" offers Mediterranean fine-dining.
