Travel information

Combination package consisting of a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday including all inter-hotel transfers. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the lowest available room category. Embarkation always takes place on Thursdays. The trip must be started at least one day in advance, as an overnight stay prior to embarkation is mandatory. The next possible embarkation date will always be used.

Notice

The travel offer you have selected has a duration of 14 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always provided for seven days according to the program. The pre- and post-cruise hotel stay depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

Itinerary

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.

Depending on the embarkation day, the itinerary may shift.
Itinerary:
1st day:
Arrival and embarkation. Afternoon visit to the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
2nd day:
A balloon ride is possible at 5 a.m. (optional, bookable on site).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.
3rd day:
Morning sailing to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Continue sailing to Aswan, dinner and overnight on board.
4th day:
Morning after breakfast, visit to the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Afterwards, visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca trip on the Nile (1,2,3).
Afterwards, visit a Nubian village (3).
Dinner and overnight on board.
5th day:
Early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.
Then continue to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board. Overnight and dinner on board.
6th day:
Breakfast on board. Afterwards, the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight on board.
7th day:
Breakfast. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
Then the ship continues to Luxor.
Once there, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a Sound and Light show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be added on site).
8th day:
Departure.

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence features a total of 30 modern outside cabins, spread over several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and features a reception desk. Let yourself be pampered in the main restaurant and enjoy the cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner are available. From winter 2024/25, the ship will have a small gym, which is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool and enjoy the fantastic view of the landscape along the Nile.

Accommodation

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² and feature shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area, and a French balcony.
Also bookable for single use (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) have the same facilities as the suites, but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
In the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single Suite

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² and otherwise have the same facilities as the suites, but with only one single bed without a seating area.

Economy Suite

The economy suites (S2Z) are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) with otherwise the same facilities as the suites and possibly without a French balcony and without a seating area, but with a non-opening window.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a buffet or set menu.
Breakfast includes soft and hot drinks. For lunch and dinner, two soft drinks as well as a small bottle of water per person are included.

The resort of the renowned Steigenberger chain is located in a quiet area, directly on the gently sloping, hotel-owned sandy beach with a unique house reef in Madinat Coraya.
Madinat Coraya Bay is a dream holiday destination that offers ideal conditions for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. The underwater world is home to countless rare fish species. The distance to Port Ghalib as well as to Marsa Alam airport is about 8 km.

Facilities

The spacious adults-only (bookable from 16 years) hotel complex with a total of 364 elegant rooms has a warm and oriental ambiance. Facilities include a welcoming lobby with reception so that you feel comfortable from the first moment, as well as some shops, an amphitheater, and a Bedouin tent. Culinary variety is provided by a main restaurant, an à-la-carte restaurant ("Fayrouz" - Mediterranean dishes), and various bars.
Furthermore, Madinat Coraya offers a Dine Around: Per stay, one visit to the Italian à-la-carte "Basilico Restaurant", the Asian "Rocca" restaurant, or the oriental "Zaytoun" is included for All Inclusive guests (reservation required).
In the outdoor area, there are 3 pools (one pool of which is heated) and a pool/beach bar. Sun loungers and parasols are available free of charge on the hotel's own beach and at the pools.

The newly bookable schauinsland-reisen-Original rooms (XO2) are equipped like the double rooms Superior and feature a sea view. The rooms are guaranteed to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the hotel, thus offering a breathtaking view of the Red Sea.

Breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., each in buffet form. During the day, there are various snacks for the little hunger in between.
In the afternoon, tea time with a selection of coffee, tea, and cake from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and ice cream from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as fresh juice from 10 a.m. to midnight. "Pharao Club" guests have one dinner per stay included in an à-la-carte restaurant (in "Fayruz"), registration required. Upon arrival, a fruit basket.
