Travel information

Combination package consisting of a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday including all intermediate transfers. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most affordable available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the arrival flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and the Nile cruise afterwards, the return flight must be from Luxor.

The travel offer you have chosen has a duration of 10 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always provided for seven days according to the program. Itinerary

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.

Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival and embarkation. In the afternoon, visit to the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
At 5 a.m., a hot air balloon ride is possible (optional, bookable on site).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, cruise to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 3:
Morning, continue to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Continue to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
Morning, after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Afterwards, visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3).
Then visit a Nubian village (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 5:
Early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.
Then return to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board. Overnight stay and dinner on board.
Day 6:
Breakfast on board. The ship then continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
Then the ship continues to Luxor.
Once there, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a Sound and Light show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on site).

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence features a total of 30 modernly furnished outside cabins spread over several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and has a front desk. Be pampered with culinary delights in the main restaurant and enjoy cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, there is a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner available. From winter 2024/25, the ship will have a small fitness studio, which is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the sun loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool and enjoy the dreamlike view of the landscape along the Nile.

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² and feature shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area, and a French balcony.
Also bookable for single occupancy (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) have the same features as the suites but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
In the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single Suites

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² and otherwise have the same features as the suites, but with only one single bed and no seating area.

Economy Suite

The economy suites (S2Z), while otherwise having the same features as the suites, are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) and may not have a French balcony or seating area, but rather a non-opening window.

Breakfast includes soft and hot drinks. For lunch and dinner, two soft drinks and one small bottle of water per person are included.

Location

The spacious resort is located directly on the hotel's own sand/shingle beach (bathing shoes recommended) and is only approx. 40 km from Marsa Alam airport.
Thanks to the gently sloping beach, you have the option for a relaxing beach holiday. On the other hand, the long jetty leads directly into deeper water, from where you can explore the beautiful and impressive underwater world of the Red Sea. The beach offers the best conditions for snorkeling and diving.

Facilities

The large, newly opened hotel complex consists of 514 rooms. The cozy and charmingly furnished complex has a reception, several shops, an amphitheater, various bars, two buffet restaurants ("El Khan" - Oriental, "Soprano Restaurant" - international cuisine), an à-la-carte restaurant ("Shell Fish" - seafood, once per stay, reservation required), two snack restaurants, various bars, and a café, The Bakery.
In the extensive grounds, there are 12 swimming pools (three of which are heated in winter) and 3 children's pools (two of which are heatable in winter). The newly built Aqua Park with 32 water slides (11 for adults and 21 for children; partially heatable in winter) offers fun for young and old.
Sun loungers, umbrellas, cushions, and towels are free of charge at the pool and beach.
Customers of the "Pickalbatros Portofino Villaggio" can also use all facilities of the sister hotel "Pickalbatros Portofino Vita" (RMF116).

The modern rooms with garden view are spacious (D, approx. 35 m²) and equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included only), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.

Double room Superior

The modern double superior (DSU, approx. 42-45m²) are equipped with a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
Also bookable with pool view (DSP) or sea view (DMU) for an additional charge.
Under RMFA49, also bookable as single occupancy with garden view (DSE), as single occupancy with pool view (DST), and as single occupancy with sea view (DME).

Family room Deluxe garden view

The modern rooms (2FS, approx. 70 m²) consist of a bedroom with a king-size bed and a bedroom with single beds and a sofa bed, and are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
Also bookable with pool view (XF2) for an additional charge.

Royal Suite Swim Up pool view

The Royal Suite (SWP) are approx. 105 m² and feature bathroom/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar (water included), safe, kettle, telephone (for a fee), TV, and terrace with direct access to the shared swim-up pool. The rooms have two bedrooms.
(Additional allotment bookable under RMFA49 as Royal Suite type B (RZ3)).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children.
Therefore, schauinsland-reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children for bookings of these room types for safety reasons.

Double room Deluxe (RMFA49)

The double rooms Deluxe correspond in size and equipment to the double rooms (DD2). Also bookable with pool view (DBP) and sea view (DDM).

Bungalow Deluxe sea view (RMFA49)

The bungalows Deluxe have a size of approx. 35m² and are equipped with air conditioning, bathroom with shower or bathtub/WC, flatscreen TV, balcony or terrace, and have a sea view (2BM).

Superior Bungalow sea view (RMFA49)

The superior bungalows are similar in equipment to the bungalows Deluxe, but are larger at approx. 45m² (2UB).
