Travel information

Combination package including a Nile cruise on the MS Lady Carol and a beach holiday, including all transfers between segments. Hotel accommodation is always provided in the most reasonably priced available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the outbound flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and the Nile cruise second, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel package you have selected has a duration of 10 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always provided for seven days according to the program. The pre-cruise and post-cruise stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

Embarkation: Thursday
The itinerary may shift depending on the day of embarkation.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival and embarkation. Afternoon visit to the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
Tour of the East Bank in Luxor. At 5 AM, hot air balloon excursion (optional, can be booked locally).
Breakfast, tour of the East Bank, Karnak Temple, and Luxor Temple (1,2,3).
Lunch on board.
Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Day 3:
Tour of the West Bank. In the morning after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Temple of Hatshepsut (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Late evening departure to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
Continue journey from Esna.
Then on to Aswan, where the overnight stay takes place.
Lunch and dinner, and overnight stay on board.
Day 5:
In the morning after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam and the Old Aswan Dam (1,2,3).
Then visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca trip on the Nile (1,2,3).
Followed by an opportunity to visit a Nubian village with the desert on one side and the Nile on the other (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 6:
Opportunity to explore Abu Simbel (2,3). Voyage to Kom Ombo with a visit to the double temple (1,2,3). Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Journey to Esna and visit to the Edfu Temple (1,2,3). Overnight stay on board.
Day 8:
Arrival in Luxor. Departure.

The ship features a friendly reception and a total of 72 beautiful outside cabins, spread over several decks. The main restaurant provides delicious meals. The offer is complemented by a cozy lounge bar. A small bazaar invites you to browse and explore. The spacious sun deck features a large pool and a bar. Bath towels are included on board.

Cabins

The tastefully furnished cabins (K2) are approx. 19 m² in size and feature a bathroom with bath/WC, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, video system, air conditioning, minibar, and safe.
The cabins can also be booked for single occupancy (K1 or KA1).

Economy cabins

The economy cabins (EK2) are equipped like the standard cabins, but are located on the lower decks and have a small porthole.

Single cabin

With the same amenities as the cabins, but slightly smaller (approx. 13 m²) and with only one bed (K1B). The window cannot be opened.

The spacious resort is located directly on the hotel's own sandy/pebble beach (bathing shoes recommended) and is only approx. 40 km from Marsa Alam Airport.
The gently sloping beach offers the perfect opportunity for a relaxing beach holiday. Furthermore, a long jetty leads directly into deeper water, from where you can discover the beautiful and impressive underwater world of the Red Sea. The beach provides excellent conditions for snorkeling and diving.

Facilities

The large, newly opened hotel complex consists of 514 rooms. The comfortably and charmingly furnished complex features a reception, several shops, an amphitheater, various bars, two buffet restaurants ("El Khan" - Oriental, "Soprano Restaurant" - international cuisine), an à la carte restaurant ("Shell Fish" - seafood, once per stay, with reservation), two snack restaurants, various bars, and a café, The Bakery.
The extensive outdoor area houses 12 swimming pools (three of which are heated in winter) and 3 children's pools (two of which are heatable in winter). The newly built Aqua Park with 32 water slides (11 for adults and 21 for children; partially heatable in winter) offers fun for all ages.
Sun loungers, umbrellas, pads, and towels are available free of charge at the pool and beach.
Guests of the "Pickalbatros Portofino Villaggio" can use all facilities of the sister hotel "Pickalbatros Portofino Vita" (RMF116).

The modern garden-view rooms are spacious (D, approx. 35 m²) and equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water only included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.

Beachfront sea view

Double room Superior

The modern Double Superior rooms (DSU, approx. 42-45 m²) are equipped with a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
Also available with pool view (DSP) or sea view (DMU) for an additional charge.
Under code RMFA49 also available for single occupancy with garden view (DSE), single occupancy with pool view (DST), and single occupancy with sea view (DME).

Family room Deluxe garden view

The modern rooms (2FS, approx. 70 m²) consist of a bedroom with a king-size bed and a bedroom with single beds and a sofa bed; they are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
Also available with pool view (XF2) for an additional charge.

Royal Suite Swim Up pool view

The Royal Suite (SWP) is approx. 105 m² and features bath/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar (water included), safe, kettle, telephone (for a fee), TV, and a terrace with direct access to the communal swim-up pool. The rooms have two bedrooms.
(Additional allotment bookable under RMFA49 as Royal Suite Type B (RZ3)).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children.
Therefore, for security reasons, schauinsland-reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children in these room types.

Junior suite panorama sea view

The spacious Junior Suites Panoramic Sea View (J2M, approx. 52 m²) offer an impressive panoramic view of the Red Sea and the expansive resort complex due to their elevated location. The tastefully furnished suites feature a combined living and sleeping area with a king-size bed, a seating area, and a dressing area. Further amenities include air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, kettle, safe, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The private balcony with seating invites you to enjoy the wonderful view and relaxing holiday hours.

Double room Deluxe (RMFA49)

The Deluxe Double rooms correspond in size and equipment to the double rooms (DD2). Also available with pool view (DBP) and with sea view (DDM).

Bungalow Deluxe sea view (RMFA49)

The Deluxe Bungalows have a size of approx. 35 m² and are equipped with air conditioning, bathroom with shower or bathtub/WC, flat-screen TV, balcony or terrace, and have a sea view (2BM).

Superior Bungalow sea view (RMFA49)

The Superior Bungalows are similar in furnishings to the Deluxe Bungalows, but are larger at approx. 45 m² (2UB).
