Travel information

Combination package featuring a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday, including all transfers between locations. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most reasonably priced available room category. Embarkation always takes place on Thursdays. The trip must be started at least one day in advance, as an overnight stay beforehand is mandatory. The earliest possible embarkation will always be selected.

Notice

The travel offer you have selected has a duration of 14 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always for seven days according to the program. The pre-cruise and post-cruise hotel stays are determined based on your arrival day and the embarkation date. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the Aswan High Dam.

Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival and embarkation. Afternoon visit to the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
At 5 a.m., a hot air balloon ride is possible (optional, bookable on site).
Morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon journey to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 3:
Morning journey to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Journey to Aswan, dinner, and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
Morning after breakfast, visit to the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Afterwards, visit to the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca trip on the Nile (1,2,3).
Then, visit to a Nubian village (3).

Day 5:
Early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.
Then continue to Kom Ombo.

Breakfast on board. Afterwards, the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
The ship then travels on to Luxor.
Once there, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a Sound and Light Show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on site).

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence features a total of 30 modernly furnished outside cabins, spread over several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and has a reception desk. Let yourself be pampered by the culinary offerings in the main restaurant and enjoy the cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner are available. From winter 2024/25, the ship will have a small fitness room, which is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the sun loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool and enjoy the dreamlike view of the landscape along the Nile.

Accommodation

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area, and a French balcony.
Also bookable for single occupancy (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) feature the same amenities as the suites but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
In the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single Suites

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² and otherwise feature the same amenities as the suites, but with only one single bed and no seating area.

Economy Suite

The economy suites (S2Z) have the same features as the suites but are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) and may be without a French balcony and without a seating area, but with a non-opening window.

Breakfast includes soft drinks and hot drinks. For lunch and dinner, two soft drinks and one small bottle of water per person are included.

The exclusive Steigenberger Golf Resort is located on a peninsula, surrounded by a dreamlike lagoon with a hotel-owned lagoon beach and the spacious 18-hole golf course. The turquoise-blue lagoon landscape invites you to rest and relax. The well-known Zeytouna Beach on Zeytouna Island, which leads into the crystal-clear water with a 400 m long bathing jetty, is only approx. 2 km away. The center of El Gouna with numerous shops, bars, and restaurants that invite you to stroll and linger is approx. 1 km away. It is approx. 30 km to the center of Hurghada and about 35 km to Hurghada airport.

Facilities

The Steigenberger Golf Resort was comprehensively renovated in spring 2023 and has been shining in new splendor since then. The exclusive hotel consists of a main building and several annexes. The spacious facility was built in the Nubian style and has 268 modern rooms. The house offers its guests an elegant reception hall with a reception and seating areas. In the extensive and beautifully designed garden area, there are two main pools and a children's pool (one of the two main pools can be heated in winter, children's pool can be heated in winter) with a sun terrace and an inviting pool bar. Sun loungers, parasols, and bath towels are available to guests at the pool and at the lagoon beach free of charge. Three restaurants and six bars fulfill your culinary wishes. These include the buffet restaurant "Fairways Restaurant" with changing themed buffets and a variety of international specialties, "La Rotisserie" with international dishes, and the "Harumaki Restaurant" with Japanese cuisine (reservation required). The further facilities of the resort include an 18-hole golf course popular with golfers as well as a spa, wellness, and fitness area.

The deluxe double rooms (DD2) are about 54 m² and have a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, free Wi-Fi, smart TV, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea maker, safe, and balcony or terrace with garden view.
Also bookable for single occupancy (DD1).

Premium Double Room Lagoon or Pool View

The rooms (PPD) are 54 m² and modernly furnished. They have a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, free Wi-Fi, smart TV, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea maker, safe, and balcony or terrace with lagoon, pool, or golf course view.
Also bookable for single occupancy (1PP).

The junior suites (JS2) feature the same amenities as the double rooms, but are more spacious (72 m²) and additionally have an integrated living area with a table, two chairs, and two sofa beds, and have a garden, lagoon, golf course, or pool view.

Dine Around El Gouna

The Dine-Around program allows guests with half board, full board, or all-inclusive a special culinary experience in numerous different Dine-Around offers. Guests can dine in participating restaurants of other hotels – with no additional costs for the food (drinks excluded).
Depending on the length of stay, guests can use the Dine-Around offer several times: 1x from four nights, up to 3x for five to seven nights, and up to 4x for eight or more nights. Guests of 5-star hotels have access to all participating restaurants. Guests from a 3 or 4-star hotel can dine in houses of the same category – an upgrade to a 5-star restaurant is possible for a small fee.

18-hole championship golf course with driving range located in the hotel complex. Green fees can be booked on site, seasonally dependent.
