The Palafitos Overwater Bungalows are located directly on the beach of the El Dorado Maroma Resort, in Playa del Carmen. The city center is approximately 17 km away. Cancun International Airport is 45 km away.

The luxurious Palafitos Overwater Bungalows Resort is the only resort on the Riviera Maya with overwater bungalows. Overwater Bungalow

The Overwater Bungalows offer an elegant design with a calm atmosphere and privacy, measuring 56m² indoors and an additional 20m² on the outdoor terrace. From there, you can access your private plunge pool and enjoy direct access to the sea. The bungalows are equipped with a king-size bed, vanity mirror, high-quality toiletries, snorkeling equipment, a safe, a Nespresso machine, and a minibar. Amenities also include butler service, a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival, and 24-hour room service.

The offer includes access to the beautiful Maroma Beach with experiences such as a catamaran and snorkeling trip, a WaveRunner ride, and a brunch directly by the sea with over 20 food stations.

Note

From now on, hotels in Mexico will introduce an "Eco-Tax". This requires every user of a hotel room in Mexico to pay a fee to the state locally at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.

A tourism tax came into effect on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, brown algae are often observed in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are of course endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may cause slight noise.
