Destination information

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, there is often an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. Hotel management and local authorities are naturally working to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with local administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which can create a slight background noise.
