Location

The Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla hotel is located directly on the white sandy beach of Playa Esmeralda with a view of the island of Cozumel. The hotel is surrounded by a lush mangrove nature reserve. Shops, bars, and nightclubs can be reached in a few minutes by car. Cancun airport is approximately 45 minutes away by car.

Facilities

Enjoy an unforgettable vacation in the luxurious adults-only section of the overall complex, which consists of La Perla (adults-only) and La Esmeralda (family section). The adults-only section comprises 394 elegantly designed suites. 14 restaurants provide for the culinary well-being of guests (Fuego, Passion by Martin Berasategui, Bana, Hadar, The Grill, Sunset Grill, Sunrise Grill, Gabi Club, Vento, Mole, Naos, The Market, La Palapa Grill and Olio for Family Concierge). At the 11 different bars (Red Lounge, M Bar Martini & Wine, Toji, Blue Agave, South Avenue Bar, North Avenue Bar, swim-up bar, Gabi Club Bar, Illy Café, Moet & Chandon Corner, Don Julio Corner, some for an additional fee), guests have a large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at their disposal.

Junior Suite Garden View

The elegantly designed suites feature a bathroom with shower/WC, king-size bed, 40-inch flat-screen TV with cable channels, living area with sofa, marble flooring, minibar (replenished daily), safe, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and private terrace with garden or pool view. The view depends on availability (JGB/JGS).

Suite Garden View

Equipped the same as the Junior Suites but more spacious and features two double beds or one king-size bed, private terrace with hot tub (2SG).

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40m x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room; this means occupancy: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Zusatzhinweis

As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax was put into effect and currently amounts to a one-time fee of 224 Mexican pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During a stay between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased occurrence of brown algae is frequently recorded in the Caribbean during this time. The beach and the sea are affected by this. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, striving to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate equipment is necessary for this, which causes a slight background noise.
