Location

The Hotel Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla is located directly on the white sandy beach of Playa Esmeralda, overlooking the island of Cozumel. The hotel is surrounded by lush mangrove reserves. Shops, bars, and discotheques are just a few minutes' drive away. Cancun Airport is approximately a 45-minute drive from the hotel.

Facilities

Enjoy an unforgettable vacation in the luxurious adults-only area of the entire complex, consisting of La Perla (adults-only) and La Esmeralda (family area). The adults-only area comprises 394 elegantly designed suites. For the culinary well-being of our guests, there are 14 restaurants (Fuego, Passion by Martin Berasategui, Bana, Hadar, The Grill, Sunset Grill, Sunrise Grill, Gabi Club, Vento, Mole, Naos, The Market, La Palapa Grill and Olio for Family Concierge). Junior Suite Garden View

The elegantly designed suites feature a bathroom with shower/toilet, king-size bed, 40-inch flat-screen TV with cable TV, living area with sofa, marble flooring, minibar (refilled daily), safe, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, private terrace with garden view or pool view. The view depends on availability (JGB/JGS).

Suite Garden View

Equipped like the Junior Suites but more spacious and features two double beds or one king-size bed, private terrace with hot tub (2SG).

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For double occupancy with 1/2 children or 3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room, meaning occupancy is 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Hotels in Mexico will gradually introduce an "Eco-Tax" from now on.
This means that every user of a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a tax to the state locally at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.

A tourism tax came into effect on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased presence of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, increased amounts of brown algae are often observed in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with local municipalities. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may cause some noise.
