Location

The charming Exe El Pueblito Holbox is located on the idyllic island of Holbox on the north coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. The fine sandy Holbox Beach is only approx. 300m away, and the dreamlike natural beaches of Punta Coco and Punta Mosquito are approximately 2.6km and 5km away, respectively. Cancún International Airport is about 150km away and can be reached via a combination of road and ferry transfer.

Facilities

Designed in a rustic-tropical style, the hotel reflects the soul of Holbox with its palm-thatched roofs, handcrafted details, and abundant local vegetation. The open design with a central patio is reminiscent of traditional Mexican villages, creating a warm, authentic atmosphere. The complex has a total of 40 rooms. Facilities include a 24-hour reception (air-conditioned), concierge service, luggage storage, a restaurant, a spacious outdoor pool, and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

Double Room

The cozy double rooms are furnished in a natural, local style, offering a pleasant atmosphere of well-being. Amenities include a king-size bed, air conditioning, shower/WC, safe, and toiletries (on request) (D/DE).

Premium Double Room

With otherwise identical amenities, the Premium Rooms are more spacious and feature a king-size bed or two queen-size beds (P2D/P1D).

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For double occupancy with 1/2 children or 3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room, meaning occupancy: 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

A tourism tax came into effect on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time fee of 224 Mexican pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the duration of your stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, there is often an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. Hotel management and local authorities are naturally endeavoring to clean affected beach areas in cooperation with local municipalities. However, this requires the use of equipment that may produce a slight noise.
