Location

The charming Exe El Pueblito Holbox is located on the idyllic island of Holbox on the north coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. The fine sandy Holbox Beach is only approx. 300 m away, and the dreamlike natural beaches of Punta Coco and Punta Mosquito are approx. 2.6 km and 5 km away, respectively. Cancún International Airport is about 150 km away and can be reached via a combination of road and ferry transfer.

Facilities

Designed in a rustic-tropical style, the hotel reflects the soul of Holbox with its palm-thatched roofs, handcrafted details, and abundance of local vegetation. The open design with a central patio is reminiscent of traditional Mexican villages and creates a warm, authentic atmosphere. The complex has a total of 40 rooms. Facilities include a 24-hour reception (air-conditioned), concierge service, luggage storage, a restaurant, a spacious outdoor pool, and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

Double room

The cozy double rooms are furnished in a natural, local style and offer a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Amenities include a king-size bed, air conditioning, shower/WC, safe, and toiletries (on request) (D/DE).

DZ Premium

With otherwise identical facilities, the Premium rooms are more spacious and feature one king-size bed or two queen-size beds (P2D/P1D).

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room; this means occupancy: 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is recommended to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae occurrences may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of sargassum (brown algae) is frequently observed in the Caribbean during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities naturally strive to clean the affected beach sections in cooperation with local municipalities. This may, however, require the use of heavy machinery, which may cause minor noise disturbances.
