Sustainability

With our "Travel with a Future" label, we highlight hotels that demonstrably meet recognized sustainability standards. These include, among others, standards recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and the Tourism Sustainability Certifications Alliance (TSCA). Currently, around 20% of the hotels in our program meet these criteria and have been verified through independent certification processes. This product line offers our guests additional guidance when choosing their accommodation.

Further information on the subject of sustainability at Schauinsland-Reisen can be found at: https://nachhaltigkeit.schauinsland-reisen.de/reisen-mit-zukunft

This hotel has the following certification:
  • Travelife (valid until 12.11.2027)

Zusatzhinweis

Effective immediately, hotels in Mexico will introduce an "Eco-Tax." Consequently, every guest using a hotel room in Mexico is required to pay a local state tax, similar to a tourist tax, in cash at the hotel.
**************************************
On April 1, 2021, a tourism tax was implemented, which is currently a one-time fee of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.
The tax can be paid electronically before departure via the following link: http://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is recommended to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars. In Mexico, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be openly integrated into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations may be punishable by fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased accumulation of brown algae is frequently recorded in the Caribbean during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean the affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate equipment is necessary for this, which causes a slight background noise.
