Location

The holiday resort is located directly on the white sandy beach of Cozumel, approximately 16 km from San Miguel. The hotel is surrounded by tropical mangroves and offers guests beautiful flora and fauna. Playa del Carmen can be reached by ferry in about 45 minutes. For snorkelers and divers, the nearby Palancar Reef is one of the top 5 diving destinations.

The 247 rooms are spread across 11 colonial-style buildings. In 7 restaurants, guests can choose between Mexican, international, Mediterranean cuisine, and pizza. There is also an exclusive restaurant for Royal Level guests. The complex features a reception with a currency exchange, boutique, diving center (PADI), beauty salon, car/boat rental, a nightclub, 2 swimming pools with a beautiful sun terrace, and a children's pool. Sun loungers and beach towels are included by the pool and on the beach.

The rooms are furnished in a colonial style and feature a bathroom with a toilet and separate shower/bathtub, hairdryer, ceiling fan, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, minibar (included), coffee maker, iron/ironing board, safety deposit box (rental), and Wi-Fi (DD2/DD1).

Deluxe Grand Concierge

Similar amenities to the Deluxe Double Rooms, additionally equipped with a seating area, bathroom with a bathtub, and a beautiful garden view. The rooms also include the following amenities: concierge service, DVD player, fruit basket and a bottle of wine on arrival day, 10% discount on spa treatments, and bathrobes. The rooms are located on the 1st-3rd floors (GCZ/GCE).

Luxury Royal Club (until 31.10.2023)

The rooms are elegantly and spaciously furnished and feature a shower/bathtub/toilet, and a terrace or balcony. Additionally, the rooms offer the following amenities: VIP check-in/check-out service, access to the private lounge with free internet access, concierge service, evening turndown service, fruit basket upon arrival, access to the exclusive Royal Club pool, pillow menu, bathrobes, and slippers (2LC).

In Mexico, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be openly integrated into the general living area of the hotel room without a separate spatial separation.

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For double occupancy with 1-2 children or 3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room, meaning occupancy is 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Hotels in Mexico are gradually introducing an "Eco-Tax".
This means that every user of a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a local tax to the state at the hotel, in cash.

As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax has been in effect and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to have the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars with you.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transportation, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished by fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, an increased presence of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, brown algae are often found in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. Hotel management and local authorities are naturally endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may generate some noise.
