Location

The resort is approx. 16 km from San Miguel and is located directly on Cozumel's white sandy beach. The hotel is surrounded by tropical mangroves and offers its guests beautiful flora and fauna. Playa del Carmen can be reached by ferry in approx. 45 minutes. For snorkelers and divers, the nearby Palancar Reef is one of the top 5 diving destinations.

The 247 rooms are spread across 11 colonial-style buildings. In 7 restaurants, you can choose between Mexican, international, Mediterranean cuisine, and pizza; there is also a restaurant exclusively for Royal Level guests. The complex has a reception with a currency exchange, a boutique, a dive center (PADI), a beauty salon, car/boat rental, a disco, 2 swimming pools with beautiful sun terraces, and a children's pool. Sun loungers and beach towels are included by the pool and on the beach.

The rooms, furnished in colonial style, have a bathroom with toilet and separate shower/bathtub, hairdryer, ceiling fan, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, minibar (included), coffee maker, iron/ironing board, rental safe, and Wi-Fi (DD2/DD1).

Deluxe Grand Concierge

Similar amenities to the Deluxe Double rooms, also equipped with a seating area, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a beautiful garden view. Additionally, the rooms offer the following amenities: concierge service, DVD player, fruit basket and a bottle of wine on arrival day, 10% discount on spa treatments, and bathrobes. The rooms are located on the 1st-3rd floor (GCZ/GCE).

Luxury Royal Club (until 31.10.2023)

The rooms are elegantly and spaciously furnished and feature a shower/bathtub/toilet, and a terrace or balcony. Additionally, the rooms offer the following amenities: VIP check-in/check-out service, access to the private lounge with free internet access, concierge service, evening turndown service, fruit basket upon arrival, access to the exclusive Royal Club pool, pillow menu, bathrobes, and slippers (2LC).

A tourism tax came into force on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Destination information

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, increased brown algae are often observed in the Caribbean. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are naturally endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which generates a slight background noise.
