Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, a frequent increase in brown algae can be recorded in the Caribbean during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, working with local governments to clean affected beach sections. However, this requires the use of heavy machinery, which may generate a slight noise level.
