Superior Junior Suite

The junior suites, designed in a modern Caribbean-Mexican style, feature one king-size or two double beds, bathroom with hydromassage bathtub/WC, hairdryer, seating area, 24-hour room service, guest service (on request), air conditioning, safe, telephone, satellite TV, minibar, coffee machine, and balcony or terrace (JU2/JU1). Ocean-side rooms can be booked for an extra charge until Nov 1, 2026 (2JO/1JO).
From Nov 1, 2026, bookable as 1 King Bed Junior Suite (JS2/JS1) and 2 Double Beds Junior Suite (JU2/JU1).

Deluxe Junior Suite

Slightly larger than the junior suites, these were built in 2015 and are located in the adults-only area (2JD). Ocean-side rooms are bookable for an extra charge (JO2). The adults-only area also features an infinity pool and a restaurant.
From Nov 1, 2026, bookable as Deluxe Junior Suite 1 King Bed (2JD), Deluxe Junior Suite 2 Double Bed (J2D), and for an extra charge as Ocean Front Deluxe JS 1 King Bed (C2O) (no longer adults-only).

Premium Junior Suite

These rooms feature the same amenities as the Deluxe Junior Suite plus a shower, and offer more modern decor. Bookable until Oct 31, 2026.

Rooms with direct pool access present an increased safety risk for small children. Therefore, for security reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booked in these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are provided in the room, meaning occupancy is: 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

A tourism tax went into effect on April 1, 2021, and is currently a one-time fee of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is recommended to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US dollars.

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punishable by fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

Between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, a frequent increase of brown algae in the Caribbean can be noted during this time. This can impact the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal authorities. This, however, requires the use of heavy machinery, which may cause a slight background noise.
