Inside cabin

The modern and functionally furnished inside cabins of the Costa Smeralda offer a comfortable ambience for relaxing days at sea. Features include air conditioning, interactive satellite TV (pay-TV for a fee), bathroom with shower and WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (for a fee) and Wi-Fi (for a fee).
With a size of approx. 13 m², the inside cabins offer space for up to four people. Depending on the cabin location and category, some beds are separate. The well-thought-out design ensures a pleasant atmosphere and a high level of living comfort throughout the entire cruise.

Outside cabin

The outside cabins of the Costa Smeralda have a large window or sometimes portholes and offer a beautiful sea view. With a size of approx. 20 m², the ocean-view cabins offer space for 2 to 4 people (some with separate beds). Features include air conditioning, satellite TV, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, safe as well as minibar and Wi-Fi for a fee. The well-thought-out design and the spacious feeling make the outside cabin a comfortable retreat during the cruise.

Balcony cabin

The balcony cabins of the Costa Smeralda combine modern living comfort with a private outdoor area and a magnificent view of the sea. Your own balcony invites you to enjoy the fresh sea air and impressive views in a relaxed atmosphere.
The cabins are approx. 17 m² in size (plus balcony) and offer space for 2 to 4 people. Features include air conditioning, satellite TV, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, safe as well as minibar and Wi-Fi for a fee. Some of the cabins are equipped with separate beds.

Meals

Full board

On board, a total of 11 restaurants ensure culinary variety with specialities from all over the world. These include a buffet restaurant, the "Pummid’Oro" pizzeria, the Teppanyaki restaurant, the family restaurant "Tutti a Tavola" and the "Laboratorio del Gusto", where selected dishes can be prepared by guests themselves (partly for a fee and with reservation). Meal times in the main restaurants are determined by Costa.
The gastronomic offer is supplemented by 19 bars and cafés (for a fee), including the Spazio Bollicine by Ferrari Spumante, the Aperol Spritz Bar, the Campari Bar, the Sports Bar, the Bacaro Veneziano, the Nutella Café and two Amarillo ice cream parlours. Thus, the Costa Smeralda offers varied moments of enjoyment for every taste.

In addition to full board services, the MyItalian enjoyment package can be booked. This includes a large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for every time of day. This includes cocktails such as Aperol Spritz, Campari Spritz, Negroni and Martini cocktails, high-quality coffee specialities from Caffè Vergnano as well as beer, soft drinks and mineral water.
Also included are selected liqueurs, brandies and bitters, including Limoncello, Grappa, Averna and Ramazzotti, as well as Italian red, rosé and white wines, Prosecco and Spumante. The offer is supplemented by homemade Italian ice cream and selected culinary specialities. The drinks package ensures varied moments of enjoyment and underlines the Italian way of life on board the Costa Smeralda.

Sports included

The extensively and modernly equipped fitness centre with a magnificent sea view offers ideal conditions for daily training on board. Various cardio and strength equipment allow for sporting activities in a pleasant atmosphere.
In the outdoor area, a multi-purpose sports field and a jogging track are also available and offer numerous opportunities for movement and sporting balance in the open air. This allows activity, relaxation and a holiday experience on the Costa Smeralda to be optimally combined.

Sports for a fee

For additional sporting activities, various classes such as yoga, Pilates and Kinesis are available in the aerobic studio (for a fee). In addition, individual training sessions with professional support can be booked in the fitness centre (for a fee). This allows your personal fitness programme to be flexibly designed even during the cruise.

Children's program

For children and teenagers, the Costa Smeralda offers a varied and age-appropriate leisure programme in the popular Squok Children's Club. While the youngest guests can let off steam in the Mini Club (3–6 years) with games and creative activities, the Maxi Club (7–11 years) offers a diverse entertainment and activity programme.
For teenagers, the Teen Junior Club (12–14 years) and the Teen Club (15–17 years) are available with age-appropriate activities, games and meeting points. This allows young guests the best conditions to make new friends and spend varied holiday days.
The offer is supplemented by a children's paddling pool as well as an entertainment area with video games (for a fee), which ensures additional leisure fun on board.

The Samsara Spa (for a fee) covers around 6,000 m² over four decks and offers an exclusive oasis of relaxation at sea. Facilities include a thermal bath, a thalassotherapy pool, saunas, a Turkish steam bath, a solarium and several whirlpools.
The wellness offer is rounded off by varied wellness, beauty and massage treatments that invite you to enjoy relaxing breaks and pure regeneration in a stylish ambience.

Entertainment

For varied entertainment, there are spectacular shows in the theatre, live music, a piano bar, a disco and a casino for guests aged 18 and over. The diverse on-board programme offers numerous opportunities for entertaining hours at sea during the day and in the evening.
For relaxation and swimming fun, four pools are available, including a covered pool area and a separate swimming deck. Special highlights include the Aqua Park with several water slides and water attractions as well as the spectacular Skywalk at a height of around 65 metres, which enables impressive views of the sea.
The leisure offer is rounded off by atmospheric theme evenings, interactive events and other on-board events, which ensure social hours and unforgettable holiday moments.

Lucky cabin: When booking a lucky cabin, the desired cabin category (inside, outside or balcony cabin) is selected, and the cabin number and deck are assigned by Costa. Riu Buenavista

Location

The hotel is located in Playa Paraiso, directly by the sea. A small beach and shopping facilities can be reached after about 500 m. It is about 10 km to Costa Adeje and Tenerife South Airport is about 30 km away.

The hotel, completely renovated in 2020, consists of a 9-storey main building and a 5-storey annex with 542 rooms. It has a reception, a buffet restaurant, two further buffet restaurants (Asian, Italian), a grill restaurant at the pool and a lobby bar. In the outdoor area there is an infinity pool (not heated), 3 swimming pools (1x Adults-Only), a children's pool with slides and a baby pool (all heated in winter), a sun terrace with free sun loungers and parasols as well as a pool bar. Wi-Fi is included in the entire hotel complex and in the rooms.

With otherwise the same equipment as the double rooms, the family rooms additionally have a separate living room with a sofa bed. The bathroom has a shower, separate WC as well as a balcony (DF2).
