The comfortable 4-star complex, built in Andalusian style, has a total of 297 rooms. Facilities include a reception area with a 24-hour reception, lifts, 1 buffet restaurant (with terrace, show cooking, international and regional cuisine), à la carte restaurant (for a fee, reservation required, with international and regional cuisine, seasonally available from 1.7–31.8.), hotel bar and lounge bar (open only from July-August), outdoor area with sun terrace and freshwater swimming pool. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available to hotel guests free of charge in the pool area. The hotel also has an exclusive area with Bali beds (for a fee).

The comfortable and spacious Superior Double Rooms are approx. 30 m² in size and feature a bath/WC, hairdryer, 2 single beds (twin, each 1 m x 2 m), telephone, safe, satellite TV (flat screen), minibar (for a fee), air conditioning/heating, and only partly with a balcony, terrace, or French balcony (DSU).
Pool/garden view (DSP) and direct sea view (DMU) can be booked for an additional charge; these rooms are guaranteed to have a balcony, terrace, or French balcony.

Arrival by car

Directions from Faro Airport (FAO) in Portugal:
Leave the airport grounds and take the following main road. After a few kilometers, you will reach the exit for Lisbon/Loule/Portimao/Estadio. Follow the signs straight ahead. After a few kilometers, you will see signs for the A22 motorway/ESPANHA. Turn right here, heading east towards Spain. The Portuguese A22 motorway will take you to the Spanish border, approximately 60 km, and directly at the border, you will cross the GUADIANA river bridge. After the bridge, you will automatically enter the Spanish A49 motorway. Stay on the A49 motorway until you reach the exit for Punta Umbría/Aljaraque after approximately 50 km. Leave the motorway at this exit and continue straight at the upcoming roundabout. The road will take you through a small wooded area and after about 10 km, at a roundabout, turn towards Punta Umbria. Continue to follow the signs for Punta Umbria, and the dual carriageway will take you directly to the beach of the Punta Umbria peninsula and directly to the Hotel Barcelo Punta Umbria. Opposite, you will see the Hotel Barcelo Punta Umbria Beach Mar. Driving time approx. 1.5 hours.
Directions from Jerez de la Frontera Airport (XRY):
Leave the airport grounds and after approximately 1 km, take the entrance to the national road A4 towards Jerez/Cádiz, which leads over a bridge (move to the left lane). On this 2-lane national road, drive for only a few minutes until you reach the E5/AP4 motorway entrance for Arcos/Cádiz (the motorway splits later). Follow the signs for the AP4 motorway to Seville. After driving some time on the motorway, you will pass the toll station, called "Peaje" in Spanish, where you will have to pay the motorway fee at a small booth. It is best to have some change ready (approx. €5). Shortly before Seville, the motorway splits, follow the signs for Huelva. You will enter the Seville ring road and cross a large bridge. Always follow the signs for the A49 motorway to Huelva. After bypassing Seville, you will reach Huelva after approximately 1 hour of driving. There, the motorway splits towards Huelva (left) and Portugal (right). Follow the motorway towards Portugal. After about 10 minutes of driving, take the exit towards Punta Umbria. At the first roundabout, continue straight on the national road A492 towards Huelva. After approximately 12 km, leave the national road and follow the signs for Punta Umbria. This route will take you directly to the hotel complex. Driving time approx. 2.5 hours.
Directions from Seville Airport (SVQ):
Leave the airport grounds and take the A4 towards Huelva. This road will lead you to the A49 motorway to Huelva. Bypass Seville, always following signs for Huelva A49. After approximately 80 km on the A49 motorway, you will reach the provincial capital Huelva. Stay on the A49 towards Portugal (motorway fork to the right). After approximately 35 more kilometers, leave the motorway at the Cartaya exit and follow the signs for Cartaya. Once you arrive in Cartaya, you will reach a roundabout. Continue straight here towards El Rompido/El Portil. Follow the road straight ahead towards El Rompido/El Portil. At the last roundabout, turn left, again towards El Rompido/El Portil. This country road will lead you directly to the coast. After only 8 km, you will reach a roundabout (petrol station on the left). Continue straight here. Always follow the main road, which will take you through the towns of El Rompido and El Portil. After passing through El Portal, you will reach the beach of El Portil. Always stay on the coastal road, and after about 4 km, you will reach the Hotel Barceló Punta Umbría Mar on the right side. Driving time approx. 2 hours.
Directions from Malaga Airport (AGP):
Leave the airport grounds and drive towards Malaga. After only a few kilometers, choose the direction Antequera, Seville.
After approximately 40 km, at the fork, turn left again towards Seville. It is about 130 km to Seville. When you reach Seville, follow the signs for Huelva A49. Bypass Seville, always following signs for Huelva
A49. After approximately 80 km on the A49 motorway, you will reach the provincial capital Huelva.
Stay on the A49 towards Portugal (motorway fork to the right). After approximately 35 more kilometers, leave the motorway at the Cartaya exit and follow the signs for Cartaya. Once you arrive in Cartaya, you will reach a roundabout. Continue straight here towards El Rompido/El Portil. Follow the road straight ahead towards El Rompido/El Portil. At the last roundabout, turn left, again towards El Rompido/El Portil.
This country road will lead you directly to the coast. After only 8 km, you will reach a roundabout (petrol station on the left). Continue straight here. After approximately 1 km, you will reach the coastal road. Turn left here. You will drive through the town of El Portil and past the beach. Follow the main road towards Punta Umbría, and after about 4 km, you will reach the town entrance. Here, you will already see the Hotel Barceló Punta Umbría Mar on the right side. Driving time: approx. 4.5 hours.
